Great game. The Koreans are great athletic shooters. If they have any frontcourt presence, China would lose big time. However, if China has good pgs, the above talk is nonsense. The Chinese point guards sucked big time. They couldn't hanldle pressure on the ball, made many erratic passes, couldn't get the ball to Yao, and missed their defensive assignments. Only the third string pg Fan Bin(the one with protective glasses) redeemed himself in the final minutes. The Koreans had no answer for Yao, if Yao got more touches he could've gone for 40-50 points.

I wonder if he is ready to leave immediately? I mean, does he have his bags packed and with him now? That would have been the smart thing to do, be ready to leave from where they are at on the first plane out. If he leaves on the same day(today) , when could he be here? late Thursday? Friday? Man, after seeing/hearing about his style of play against all these scrug teams, I really hope he brings some of that back with him.. If he does, look out NBA!
And Yao was a lot better than him at the same age. BTW, the Koreans played dirty. There were at least 3 times they fell on the floor at the slightest touch of Chinese body hair. sorry I like Korea but couldn't resist it.
Yao's stat: Pt: 30 12/16, 6/7 Rebound: 15 4/11 Assist: 6 Dunk: 7 block: 5 steal: 1 turnover: 4 foal: 3
Not so soon. No way Yao can hoop on to a plane immediately. I will guess there are some kind of chinese national team meeting tomorrow to evalutate the progress of the team during the event, meeting the major... etc. After that he will go back to Shanghai first & depart from there. My guess is that he'll join the Rockets by next monday.
but, my problem with that is that he knows that he needs to get here as soon as possible. Why waste valuable time hanging around China when he could be heading for camp. He has a new coach and teammates to meet, and a new system to learn. It doesnt fit in with his rep as a "team player". A real "team player" would want to do whatever it takes to get up to speed asap.
you guys are greedy and spoiled.... man, let Yao say good bye to china and his friends and spend a bit more time with them before he heads to america again.... geeeezzzzzz....
Does this remind anyone of an LAL-DAL game? Yeah Yao, be like Shaq. The Korean kid, well, must be compared with Shawn Bradley until further notice.
I see your point. It was a while ago Yao said he needed to rest for a couple of days after the Asian championships, so it could have changed. If it doesn't, I guess he would want to rest a bit before taking an international flight and plunge into training after he has trained and played games for a while, about four months. I wouldn't want Yao to go through all that, but that's not within my power.
i believe his schedule is that he goes to beijing tomorrow to celebrate but also to do the official reebok signing, friday he goes back to shanghai to rest and pack, he leave china on saturday and shows up monday. dont ask me how i know this.
Dude you're high right? Yao at 18 averages somewhere around 15-18 PPG at the World Championship. Ha at 18 averages 25 PPG at a Korean High School.
