Remember how Birdman (Pigeon) failed a few years ago? That had to be one of the worst showings ever. Blake Griffin is talented, but he didn't win tonight because of that talent. He won because of the anticipation by the judges and fans. He didn't do anything spectacular, though, most of us can't dunk like that. Kenny Smith deserves half of the win for putting on a PR show.
Blake's last dunk was super weak. This is dunking over a car. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Q6OcolAT5kg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
ibaka's toe did touch the line for reference and you can see here that ibaka didnt even get that much lift. his wingspan made the difference i mean its impressive but nowhere near as impressive as people are hyping it up to be
Thank you. I noticed he was almost touching the ground as he dunked it -- thank goodness for him he's 6'11 and has a HUGE wingspan.
The initial dunks Griffin was going to do, were going to be a lot more impressive than the one's he pulled off. I think after he messed up a couple of times on that 360's of the side of the back board, he gave up and went with power dunk instead..
lol at the people thinking Ibaka's dunk is the greatest FT line dunk ever. After seeing James White dunking the ball from the free throw line, Ibaka may as well have been taking a jumpshot. Mr. White has spoiled me.
They should start incorporating defenders into the dunk contest. Put the 4 best dunkers up against the 4 best shot blockers. You could have 2 contests in 1.
Wow, to all you people saying this was the best contest you've ever seen? Were you all born after 2000? Hell, I wasn't even an NBA fan back then but I still acknowledge that 2000 with Vince and T-Mac was the best contest ever after watching some of those dunks. Even Stevie Franchise was in it, Rockets fans!
Didn't someone do it two-handed too? Or hell, I might just be thinking of James White again. I went back and looked at his clips again -- between the legs from FT area. Un. Real. Of course, people would probably say Ibaka's was more impressive since he jumped three inches further than White.
I think the biggest disappointment of the night was DeMar DeRozan. I hate how they say everything has been done too... How about a 720 dunk?
This is the NBA dunk contest. James White isn't in the NBA. All anyone ever is saying is that Ibaka's dunk deserved a 50 just like every FT line dunk has gotten.
Blake's first miss was the greatest miss of all time. Hell it may have been my favorite dunk of all time had it gone in. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F1qZJ8oOUPw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
