Not really if you are syaing Duke has changed more than the other programs. The best athlete who ever played basketball at Duker was from what 90-94? (Grant Hill). They also had Dawkins, Amaker, Billy King, Thomas Hill, all before the mid 90s. K grabbed the best players he could, not so much a prototype.

Same is true for Arizona, Sean Elliott, Chris Mills, Bison Dell, Rooks, Reeves, Stoudemire, all very athletic for their positions early 90s or before Arizona players.

In short, I don't think Lute or K have changed over the years, they get the best players they can, if their players on average are more athletic it is because the pool is generally more athletic, not any fundamental change in recruiting strategy.

Further, if they see the next Laettner, Walton, Miles Simon, Steve Kerr, Bobby Hurley, all less than athletic guys who nonetheless are ballers, I have no doubt they will sign them again.

I will say this, is any college team really upped the anti in athleticism throughout their starting 5, it was the 95-98 Kentucky teams. But like I said the last team outclassed in terms of athletes to win it all was Indiana in 87 and fortunatly Bobby Knight has been downhill ever since.

True. But most of the bust theory that goes along with Duke involves players from a past era.
