Wow! You say it so matter-of-factly like you have some mathematical equation that tells you who the better player is. I would agree that some of those players you listed could definitely be better players than Dunleavy, but I would only say about half of 'em. Saying Dunleavy doesn't deserve to be on the AA team is pretty arguable to me.

But again, basically what you're saying is that you hate Duke because a selection commitee (that Duke has no connection with) picks Duke players to the all-american team when you think they don't deserve it. So you really hate the people that select the all-american team, right? And yes, the media attention that a team/player gets definitely has an effect on the voters. I don't know exactly who selects the AA team, but I sure doubt they're able to watch even 2% of the thousands of college games every year. So the only way a lot of them even know about the players is probably through the media attention they get. And usually the most dominant and popular teams get the most media attention. Not exatly fair, but its nothing new.

Okay, your mis-placed hatred of Duke really belongs on the shoulders of Dick Vitale and the All-American selection process. How about the NCAA tournament selection committee for giving them a #1 seed?

Stanford is doing a very weak impersonation of Duke. Any other challengers?

I don't hate Duke, it is a game for Pete's sake. Most of my ill-will is not because of the undue media attention--it is because they are rivals of team I like. Just like many of you pro-Houston pro-Dukie's probably don't like the Terps, Heels, Steelers, Sonics, Jazz, etc.

Giddyup is right, for Stanford to truly be like Duke they need to throw out their tougher academic standards and just go for the best players. Instead of choosing wealthy, snobby and smart types, to be like Duke they just need to focus on wealthy snobby types;)
