why are we even discussing this article?

I dont see how drafting him will help much.. he is not NBA starter type hes too small (6 foot 1) and doesnt have that great a shot. His decision making? floor general? man that stuff is too subjective.. I want someone who can shoot the ball and make good passes (assist/TO ratio)

Yeah unfortunatly there has been this curse or something on great duke PG...

I still say since WIlliams is so sure on proving to people he will play why don't the rockets pay the minimum for him and let him rehab and see if he could play. And if he can't, then we didn't waste so much on him...

Just put him on the IL and hold his rights. Can't be that risky can it?

I used to like the idea of getting Nash, but then I thought about how much we complain(ed) about Steve's defense and that changed my mind. Plus, Nash really wouldn't be that effective in our half court offense. It would help us get a few more fast break buckets, but when it came down to it at the end of the game he wouldn't be able to run like that.

good call! If we are going to be looking for 1 (I DONT THINK WE ARE) we need SAM I AM or GP someone who can hit a jumper and setup the halfcourt

Duhon, while certainly not a lock to become anything, could well follow the path of other PG's from good programs who become reliable players in the NBA.

Jeff McInnis learned from UNC, and where once he seemed a problem, he is now seen as a level-headed veteran, the ideal complement to LeBron.

Eric Snow, while not a lottery pick, was a great fit next to Iverson after playing at Michigan State.

Kenny Smith looked great next to Hakeem all those years after learning from the Dean.

Plus, the guy is a great teammate and the best of character. I remember when he came out of high school, he was the quarterback who stood out in the McDonald's game, a la TJFord.

While Duke PG's do seem to be cursed, their recent track record speaks for itself with good, quality NBA products (Brand, Maggette, Dunleavy, Battier).

Besides, we're talking 2nd round. Who else are we going to get, James Thomas? Some 17 year-old Russian?

Go ahead and add Boozer to that list. But man, I really thought Trajon Langdon was gonna make some noise in the League. He's probably playing in Moscow or something.

Speaking of which, did anybody else see Jay Williams limping around on that NBA halftime show Friday night? I don't see how he could ever play again. I look for him on Coach K's bench whenever Chris Collins leaves for a Head job. I think Johnny Dawkins is the anointed successor to Coach K-- who has been at Duke for a quarter of a century....

I don't think CM will accept coming off the bench.

Citizen Duhon has absolutely no outside shot in his game. He is no Kirk Hinrich. The reason that Duhon worked okay in Duke's offense is that he has had Jay who, JJ Red(you know what), and Daniel Ewing who are all legitimate outside threats. Cannot imagine that we have Duhon and SF3 launching up bricks from downtown with the next defender 10 feet away from them. Ye, he is also only 6-1.

We need Brent Berry or Kirk Hinrich at the point and then you can talk about moving SF3 to 2.

I will reserve my praise on Dunleavy and Battier. Not sure whether they deserve to be lottery picks. Especially in Jr's case, you have Amare, Nene, and god forbid, Boozer, Ginobli, whom I will take over Jr. any day.

That Emeka Okafur is a good player, but he'll never be the team player that Duhon is, baby!! Duhon is an all star in the making! Point guard play is so important, that Duhon is just too good to pass up! If I had the first pick in the draft, I'd pick CHRIS DUHON, baby!!

    Sincerely,
    Duke Vitale

Okafur is allright, but he is no Yao or Bron. Actually I believe that the best player in the NCAA is that Australian center on G. Tech team. He reminds me of a poor man's Yao.

It seems that not only the quality of center diminishes quickly in the league, but also in college games.

Reminds me of when he was saying that Houston was making a big mistake by taking Yao over a future star in Jay Williams.

Hell no. Duhon would be a wasted pick.

2nd rounders usually are wasted picks, unfortunately. The only way to really score in the 2nd is to take a foreign guy who's a few years away like the Spurs did with Ginobili in '99.

We'll have the shortest backcourt duo in the league if we start Duhon at the point, and Francis at the two.

    WOW!
