    DonnyMost, I got your sarcasm.

BTW, I don't want Duhon on our team. I think I'd get pretty annoyed with them inevitably talking about his ACC Tournament injury next February. Ugh.

you could also use Jerryl Sasser for Dizon... but how about the "Carlos Boozer syndrome of the Juan Dixon effect" - where the fact that Duke players have fallen in the draft, but some teams might be willing to "take a chance" on a Duke player since Boozer's recent explosion. Combine that with the Juan Dixon effect of teams already reaching for second round talent in the first round... and this guy could go in the top 25 picks

Hey, throw in a mild case of Kwame Brown-phobia (fear of using a lottery pick on unproven high-schoolers) and a history of Chronic Boki-ism (history of taking over-valued Eruos) and a college PG like this could go to a lottery team !

I got the sarcasm too. If this guy thinks Duhon is a player, I should be writing for the Chronicle. That guy isn't even half the player Jay Williams was. And like Lance said on the morning show, he can't shoot. And if he can't shoot what makes him standout. He's a nice college player. That's it.

Well, we got the #21 and #51 picks in the draft (I think...that's our picks are given to someone else). But I think there might be better players to pick than Duhon.

    Say for instance:

    Hakim Warrick 6-8 205 SF/PF Syracuse Jr.
Sebastian Telfair 6-0 170 PG Brooklyn, NY HSSr.
    Luke Jackson 6-7 215 SG/SF Oregon Sr.
Brandon Mouton 6-4 205 SG Texas Sr.
    Ha Seung-Jin 7-3 300 C (South Korea)
    Mo Ke 6-10 227 PF/C (China)

Can't do that, then we'd have a Mo overload at the PF.

Duhon in Rockets uniform will Really do Jusitice. To the team, to the players and to the fans of Rox.

Is he less talented than Jay WIlliams? Surely he is.

Is he more intelligent and unseflish? You bet.

What Rox needs is an intelligent play maker and floor general.

Duhon will be a decent backup for a couple of years, but I would have to pass on him. IMHO the Rox should look at drafting a real 3 with experience in college. I like Darius Rice myself. Rice is 6'10'' with a deadly jumper. He's not a freak athlete, but he's no slouch either. Might be a less athletic Robert Horry. The fact that he is not a potential star leads me to believe he'll be around when we pick since most gms seem to prefer gambling on Kwame Brown rather than drafting a known commodity like Josh Howard.

Another prospect I like is Christian Drejer. If he declares, he might be available around our pick. At 6'9'', he can play the 2/3 because of his speed and handles. He's not a great shooter, but he is a smart player. Might be a poor mans Odom (with the Clips).

This just in...Duhon is still feeling the effects of his collision with a camera during the ACC championship game.

drejer didnt show me anything this year at florida before he tucked his tail and ran. he had great court sense, but it felt like the game was moving too fast for him and he committed needless turn overs. his shot was off and on, and he wasnt willing to take the important shots.

lost elephant - Maybe you are a Florida fan or atleast see them on a regular basis and can answer this question: What is up with Coach Donovan? He is probably my second favorite coach behind Ricky B (HOOK'EM), but his teams seem to fall apart and some of his best players transfer (James White/Drejer). Is he an a$$hole or what?

I thought it was a good article. However, I don't think that if the Rockets drafted Duhon he would instantly be the starting PG. And I also don't think he's going to slip that far...he'll likely be a late first rounder. Some team towards the end of the first round will take him just because he's from Duke and its not a really risky pick. You know what you are going to get.

This article really points out what the Rockets are going to have to do to become an elite team. Steve starting at the 2, Cat off the bench...and a PG that does the little things to make the team win. Steve can still play good minutes at PG, but when we need it we have a true point to put in the game. Not saying the Duhon will become that necessarily...

    Hey sydmill!

I'm actually a student at Univ of Florida right now, and get to see their basketball games a lot!

For the most part , people at Florida do NOT think Billy Donovan is an A$$hole.
I think the feeling on campus is Billy D. is a good coach, but not a great one. He's just not creative with his play calling.
After getting to the NCAA finals in 2000, it totally sucks to now always being bounced in the first round. And that's with getting Top 5 recruiting classes 3 years in a row!!

Although it could also be that the kid's he's recruiting are selfish, and spoiled.

Christian Drejer was actually a pretty good player , when he got his hands on the ball. We have pretty selfish players in Anthony Roberson, and Matt Walsh that were total ball hogs.
I guess he couldn't take it watching them do dumb things with the ball while the rest of the players watched.

(I still am a HUGE Gator fan, but I've got to call it as I see it )

Actually, when I go to the games Roberson reminded me of Stevie Franchise when he'd dribble the ball to death, and force some crazy shot....

The article paints Duhon as a good player that can help the Rockets and will come cheap...but he could go in the 1st round and all is for naught.
If I had the choice, I'd throw everything we have in Nash's way, Steve Nash that is. Just the thought is salivating!!
If that fails, I'd dangle Francis for anyone willing to give us an early 1st round pick along with whatever is needed to complete the deal...
...in plain English, Steve Francis does not look good in a Rockets uniform.

I just heard a report that Duhon may still be feeling pain due to his collision with a camera in the ACC Tourney game. We'll have more from our crew on-site squarely under Duke's jock when more news comes in.

In defense of Hurley and Williams, it's hard to excel in the NBA after near-fatal traffic accidents.

Johnny Dawkins had a pretty decent career in the NBA as a guard from Duke.
