kagy:you had nothing to add much like you post laments other people doing.. all you did was attack clinton and did not really address the matter whatsoever..why do you defend the man when you make no argument except clinton didnt this and clinton didnt that...what the hell man?where is your argument? its almost as though if bush said killing little children was okay you would find a way to defend it... great post man... ------------------ "no matter how good she looks someone... somewhere..is tired of her sh*t" [This message has been edited by sirhangover (edited March 30, 2001).]
You know, I was going to let this pass, but I’ve done that too much with you. Nice world view there Brian. And you wonder why people of other countries think Americans are arrogant assholes. Oh, that’s right, you don’t care what the rest of the world thinks, right? And just like VOR said, you couldn’t attack the subject, so you attack the messenger. Classic Read between the LINES!!!! Bush said: "I will not accept a plan that will harm our economy and hurt our workers." That line says it all!!! He will rape the environment for a buck! Have you tried to breath in Texas lately? I will not stand by and watch him do that to the rest of this beautiful place we call America or even the world. And with what else he’s done in this 1st 100 days, it is explicit what pockets he’s lining and what his agenda is. **** him, you can have him. And you know what? If I could say where it went, he could keep my $300 dollars. I would pay it gladly if it was buying a meal for some poor soul, or helping out a family planning center. In fact! That’s a great idea. What if you could say? No, keep it and give it to so n so? Would you? I bet you wouldn’t, I bet you’d keep it. Wouldn’t you? There’s a big world out there Brian, one much larger than your provincial, small-minded attitude can comprehend. Hopefully one day you’ll learn a little empathy and compassion. I’m done. I won’t argue anymore with ignorance. Have a great weekend all. Even you Brian! ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
lol! get out much Brian? Did you get a chemistry or business degree in college? ------------------ (===)

sirhangover, I thought the pro choice-ers that promote killing children where generally from the other camp. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
So maybe this is what Bush meant by compassionate conservatism? Seriuosly, it's kind of sad that we need to wait on government treatys and ratifications to do something that seems so sensible. ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited March 30, 2001).]
Hydra: I, for one, appreciate your open mind on the subject. I wasn't going to add anything further but my wife, who knows far more than I on the subject of sustainable living, pointed out to me that she had read both in Thom Marshall's column in the Houston Chronicle and a magazine article recently that many who use solar cells to power their homes collect so much energy that they actually sell some of the power back to the electric company. That shocked me! I did a bit of research and found that some people actually get as much as $100 per month from their local utility company for the extra electricity they generate. In fact, some solar systems can power an entire home for a month off of a charge of only one week! They will usually keep one week in reserve and sell the rest off to the power company. The prices I've read for the cells range anywhere from $15K to $25K for a 2000 square foot home. Sheesh. I know you don't like him, but let's lay off the bull****. I was stretching, not attempting bull**** as you so eloquently put it. I like GW about as much as you like Clinton and I can recall plenty of times your dislike of our former president caused you to opine on his decisions in office. Call it reading between the lines or bull****. It's called an opinion. I guess I'll have to thoroughly douse my posts with "IMO's" and "IMHO's" from now on or maybe "how I see it" or "it appears to me" or "allegedly" if it involves a crime. Sheesh. One interpretation and I get a "layoff the bull****." Imagine what I get if I call GW a complete and total *******. Whoops! ------------------ AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
Thank you all for showing me my ignoance. I truly did not know about many of these advances in solar technology. A couple of questions. Are all of the advances contined within the same product, ie. clear solar panels that can store enough charge in one day to power my house for two weeks and cost me a relatively small amount of money? And I guess I did not read the substance of the treaty carefully, I thought it said 5% per year, my bad. Hi pot, my name is kettle, you are black. One interesting thing of note, Japan and France, both of which I would presume have signed the Kyoto treaty use nuclear power extensively and would therefor not be affected by regulations against CO2 emissions. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com [This message has been edited by Hydra (edited March 30, 2001).]
Another question, the treaty says that emissions must be reduced to ~5% below 1990 levels by 2012. What are levels now in comparison to in 1990? ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
