I am not a republican Achebe, but I am going to go out on a limb here and guess you are a huge nerd. Something fuels that hatred inside of you. I have nothing against either Al Gore or George Bush and I wish people wouldn't judge either one on stupid things like this. Just decide if you agree with their policies and judge them on that. Quit getting personal. And now someone is going to say "they got personal first.... and they said this about my candidate and look at their candidate..." Let's all try to act like grown ups here. If Dub does something really bad I will be the first to critisize it but I think this is just as stupid as making fun of Gore for saying he invented the internet. Everybody knows he knows he didn't do that, he meant it in a different way.

Shoot, this isn't even his best hatred on display. You should have seen him after the Republicans took the majority in both the House and the Senate. There was a heated thread that followed, and some real hatred!!!

I remember going on that tour when I was a kid, it was awesome and not something I have ever forgotten..(and I have forgotten many, many things in my lifetime)..

I havent been since they turned it into "SpaceCenter Houston"...which I hear is more like an theme park..

I remember getting to tour the actual training rooms, and going into the observation area at Mission Control...the room where they train to withstand gforces(centrifuge?) was cool....as seen in Space Cowboys...and numerous other training rooms...it was definitely something I will never forget..

seems to me that Bush has never been, and maybe just didnt want to admit it? It really doesnt matter, Im sure there are lots of people in Texas who have never been. I dont think any different about them because they havent...so what's the big deal?

Or when he called the FBI on those Middle Eastern tourists. Guess Republicans aren't the only ones that fit into a stereotype, eh Achebe?

Ah...I feel better.

bigtexxx, TheFreak, giddyup, you like sassy... no? You guys watch Fox for entertainment value. I don't have a liberal tv channel... so let me entertain myself. So ssssssaucey.

LeGrouper, they started it. :p ...but honestly, I think you're either a conciliatory republican (concede x so we won't dog on Bush) or else you simply haven't tired of the 1-2 setup where a party criticizes one guy's Vietnam record (draft dodging intellectual) and then elects someone that's worse (AWOL from the guard) or a party that criticizes one guy's morality (infidel) and then elects someone that's as gross (cocaine user/drunk driver) or a party that criticizes one guy's lie under oath... and then elects someone else that lied under oath.

Or a party that slandered Gore's ability to tell the truth and then found their guy in a mixup as well.

TheFreak, have you done your homework yet? btw, I saved the world.

achebe: You're assuming that I watch Fox News; I usually watch MSNBC, thank you!

Gore was not slandered; he was ridiculed, as was Bush, as was Dan Quayle before either of them-- for mis-spelling potato. Whoop-te-doo! That's the way that game is played.

Wasn't part of the hoopla sorrounding Clinton's draft issue that he traveled to Moscow? Bush went where? Kennebunkport.

Have you always equated a single, casual drunk driving offense commited as a young man with infidelity to your family commited in the Oval Office while President of the U.S.? Or are you just doing it to make this point?

What are the details of Bush's lying? Clinton lied before a Grand Jury and before the national audience about his relationship with Monica. What did Bush do in a similar vein?

Drunk driving kills people, infidelity doesn't, unless you're a Clear Lake Dentist.

Drunk driving doesn't always kill people; infidelity sometimes does. Were Bush both guilty of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter or something worse, I wouldn't be making this point.

I'm not in Texas. What's the story on the dentist?

I can't believe they got that on video, that is one crazy b****!

Achebe, I am a Libertarian. I respect your opinion on things and I believe that it keeps things interesting but really dude, you need to chill out a little on the hate. If you actually listened to republicans sometimes you might realize that they are Americans too and they are trying to help the country just like democrats. Or are you just mad because they want to take away your unemploment check:)

I don't give a rats ass who BC boinked or how much crank GW does or any of that he said she said bull****. I just want good policy makers.

I should have made my point more clearly, which is Drunk Driving, even though a lot of us have done, is a serious offense.

Oh, I know. I'm no apologist for drunk-driving. It is a serious offense; it was a serious mistake by young George. No one was hurt, I believe.

On the other hand, take a look at the alleged "Clinton Hit List!" :D

Uhhh... I'm thirty. I'd like to be 'young'. Com'on now. Stay on page... prosecuting 14 year olds for murder and overlooking intransigences such as drunk driving (by a 30 year old) is a bit silly... unless that 30 year old kid ends up growing into an electable candidate, eh? Pay some respect to the 30 year old and call him a dumbass. Pay some respect to yourself by labeling yourself a hypocrite. :p

Bush committed perjury. The conservative line on perjury is that "perjury is what it is"... a lie under oath is a lie under oath.

Com'on pay yourself some respect by calling yourself a hypocritical poop for brains for electing a perjurer/AWOL/drunk driving ****er that was more than likely guilty of insider trading. Come on, we all know you're a hypocrite. Do you know you're a hypocrite though... do it. Say it's partisan and that you're a moron. Do it. It all begins with...

my name is {{insert name}} and I'm a hypocrite.

YOu don't answer my question. When did Bush lie under oath? I'm not famliar with that. Tell me. I don't know that murder ever compares with drunk driving-- unless a death occurs, of course.

You forgot to notice that I didn't defend Bush. I inquired about the charges and you didn't respond. Sigh...

I know about Clinton's lying. I'll measure Bush against Clinton anyday on any measure of integrity.

It takes a small mind to call names. Use your brain sometime, okay?!

achebe: I tried. Hit six links and four were dead. The others are just allegation as far as I can tell.

They say he lied to avoid a private lawsuit. Who might not do that? I might; I'm no hypocrite!!! At least Clinton lied before the Grand Jury, the cameras, and the national audience on a very pointed question. No wiggle room.

giddyup, one of these days that the search fn is up I'll try to find the link to the austin article that summarized the putative perjury by Bush. It might be all bs, who knows. Maybe we should spend $80 million dollars and find out. :p

Arguably... it was a lie pertinent to his position... not a personal indiscretion... but either way the matter is boring. I just get tired of this partisan bs that we all take part in...

Person A: "Your guy did x".
Person B: "So did your guy".

Person A: "Ummm... what's that over there?" (votes for who he was going to vote for either way).

I see us all making decisions based on our own tastes/our own beliefs... when you see someone vote for a dork that went AWOL from the guard during the war... when that same person criticized Clinton's deferral... you just get tired of it all. What a bunch of mindless nonsense.

And I'm not going to get to where I want to be in life obsessed about the inconsistencies in everyone's political stances. I'll never get anything else done.

I am going to try to think about things other than politics from here on out (lowercase deltas and heavy isotopes and ecology and basketball and yadda yadda yadda and especially yadda yadda yadda).

so come to think of it... I won't retrieve that old file. Have a good one! Hasta la vista! Je suis desole pour la agressivité. J'ai un grande peni! Dondez esta la esta noches! Entrada de balon! je suis out of here!

THANK YOU! AND GOOD NIGHT!

See, I'm not sure that I criticized Clinton to any great extent nor did I defend Bush to any great extent... yet that is the basis of your calling me a hypocrite. That's where I have a problem.

Agreed that there are bigger fish to fry.

Those may not be inconsistencies in people's stances; it may be that they just don't toe any party line.

In reality, I'm not a very good Republican just like I'm not a very good Methodist. I'm a good husband, father, friend, brother, and son. I'm a mediocre poster. Goodnight.
