    I had no idea that genre had a name. Figured it was just mixed some where in electronic etc.


    Been listening to some stuff for years like that.

    What exactly "genre" would you classify this as?

    First thing that came to my mind after hearing the first thing in the OP's post.

    I was there too...no drugs, just Coors Lt and the sounds of Green Velvet, Girl Talk, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond. Good times.

    missed out on nocturnal fest, really wanted to go...

    seems like dubstep has taken over austin, i like it, better than listening to rap songs at dance bars and clubs all night...

    Haha, Kid Cudi/Pretty Lights/Rusko were the highlights of the night for me.

    Hope they do it again next year.

    Niiiice. Big up dnb producers....I think this might be considered drum step though (as if we needed to categorize all this stuff even deeper).

    Anyways, I think the scene is pretty serious in LA but don't take my word for it. As I've mentioned before, some pop stars have been recruiting dubstep producers to appear innovative to the mainstream. Britney Spears (Rusko) and Rihanna for example.
