They dont. They just have to pretend they do if they want to live peacefully in the Middle East.

Why else constantly start threads pointing out bad things about Islam?

    StupidMoniker,

Most Palestinians/Arabs/many Westerners will absolutely say that the ISraelis have been committing atrocities against Palestinians for more than half a century (and have documented proof for this claim). So for it to be dismissed as 'stupid' is in itself 'stupid' since many, many people feel exactly this is the case.

Anyways, this is not a thread about that, so I don't want to dwell too much into it.

    Actually not.

    atrocity
    1. Appalling or atrocious condition, quality, or behavior; monstrousness.
    2. An appalling or atrocious act, situation, or object, especially an act of unusual or illegal cruelty inflicted by an armed force on civilians or prisoners.

    genocide
    1. The systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.

Not to make light of any of the attrocities that Israel has commited, but they haven't commited genocide. If Israel's goal is to kill every Palestinian, they couldn't be accused of being systematic about it.

While SM is no doubt capable of being superificial and wrong, I'm pretty sure "!=" was a "does not equal" sign.

    And those 'non-Muslim-extremist' historians are?

First, we would have to define 'genocide' in not only intention, but in magnitude of a given atrocity.

Second, even if it wasn't outright genocide, there is ample evidence that the ISraelis were complicit in numerous atrocities against the Palestinians, just refer to the 'non-Muslim-extremist' secular organizations in your own backyard in Europe; read what they have to say.

Someone has clearly not done a lot of C++ programming. :)
    != means does not equal.

But don't act like you have nothing against Islam. You are full of **** and you know it.

You know, I am a Muslim. Not a good one I guess. I am not very religious at all. I belive if a person lives a good moral life he/she will get to heaven and thats it.

So why bother with religion. My religion clearly states that you dont have to be a good Muslim to make it to heaven. You just have to be a good person. A good Muslim is not going to get any special treatment on Judgement day over a good Christian, Jew or Hindu. I guess the same thing can be said for an athiest.

So I always tell my wife that I don't have to go to mosque or really participate in any religious activities, because I believe I lead a decent life. I tell her that if there was no religion that the world would be a better place.

However, we were just discussing this a couple of weeks back and something she said stuck with me. She says that yeah there are bad people in all religion. These people give their religion a bad rep (Al-Qaida for Islam comes to mind, etc. ). But this is only a small minority. There are countless good deeds done in the name of religion. These don't get reported because they aren't sensational news stories. Nobody wants to hear about how one person donated money to a Christian school in India that helped a 1000 kids become better educated and lead a good happy life. People want to hear about how Muslim terrorists killed 300 kids in Beslan, etc.

So overall religion is not the problem. Do you really think Middle East would be a better place if somehow Israel dissappred? The people who want to fight will always do so. They will always look for any excuse, be it religion, skin color, gender, or whatever. Its the people that are the problem.

The only thing that will make the world a better place for everyone is education. If we (US) spend half as much money on education as we do on wars and weapons Americans would not be hated by over half the people in the world.
