Someone needs to find and upload the weather report from that dude in Nova Scotia. Heard it with Lance Z commentating and lol'd.
Be very afraid: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3b0gIWdi0GY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
****, keep it open for us in Ausin and most of Texas. We are a long way from getting out of this drought. This rain will only raise the lakes a foot or so. They are 1/3 full so we need a lot more
Agreed. Travis and Buchanan are only 36% full and there are no public ramps open on either lake. We need a couple months of this weather to fill these 2 lakes back up before we should shut this thread down.
I was being facetious about closing the thread. This is from last Thursday. I'm guessing much of East Texas will be white come this Thursday. Look at the pan handle...
All it will take to fill the highland lakes is one big rain event over a couple of days in the right spot. Something like happened in '97, where above Marble falls got 14" overnight - it just all ran off into the lakes. We had two rain events in ATX this year around where I live both over 10" in a day, both unfortunately below the Highland lakes...20 miles further north and It would be a different story. DD
Yea.. That Map should be close, if not, all white by tomorrow lol. At least for SE Texas And by the looks of things, we may be having this type of rain through the weekend. The Low Pressure you see rotating on the map below has stalled and will move over the area through the week/weekend. It also appears it has become more of a warm core Low which will fill in with moderate/heavy rain. What will be really interesting to see, is if it keeps it's structure when it gets over the Gulf of Mexico, however with the low SST's it will probably hurt it more than anything.
Like I always say, you will NEVER hear me complaining about too much rain after the drought of 2012....but I had plans to hang out by the pool all weekend and break in our new patio furniture (and margarita machine....)! I thought this was supposed to clear out by Friday.
I couldn't agree more. I am certainly enjoying the rain but it is going to ruin my plans this weekend too if it pans out. I was expecting some better news for the weekend until I read this from the NWS:
This thing blew down my Queen Palms and all of my outside couch cushions are gonzo! The lightening show was spectacular though.
