You guys dont think the Droid X is too large? Look at the side by side picture...I dont want that thing in my pocket, so annoying.

Plus, it'll get in the way when Im trying to grind girls at the club. I want them feeling something else. Thanks.

Right. Didn't you like went from 3G, 3Gs to iPhone 4 within a year? Because last year I remembered you own a 3G and b**** about the false rumors about the 3Gs but still end up getting it.

Touch screen texting is simple enough when you get the hang of it but can't hold the jock strap of a real dedicated keyboard

All these new badass smart phones coming out make me regret my decision to get a curve at the beginning of the year.

Droid X better than the Droid Incredible?

I'm still due my Droid Incredible exchange (I have Droid right now) but I might get the Droid X instead?

    The only major differences are:

    1) Sense UI (HTC's UI overlay) vs. the UI overlay that Moto has on the Droid X (a slimmed down version of MotoBlur.
    2) Size: 3.7" screen vs. 4.3" screen.

I'd make your decision based on whether or not you want a bigger phone/screen. Also, the Droid Incredible is not being canned. Verizon is just fazing out one UPC for another (the Droid Incredible got new packaging recently).

The only thing I don't like about it is the touchscreen. But that's just a personal preference. I like tactile feedback.

Thanks, that is sort of what I was thinking was the major difference was size. Looks huge to me. I guess I will hold on to my Incredible when it comes in and check out the X when it comes out. I can always sell the Incredible if I really like the X.

No doubt the phone is pretty slick. I'm still trying to get a Droid 1 :p. Hopefully I too will have one around mid-July once I get them Benjamins. Or maybe sooner if Benjamins visit me sooner.

    so does my wife!

on a side note though, it would kick ass if Malcolm X had one of these at some point.

The size isn't an issue with me as I'll gladly take a bigger screen at the expense of a snugger fit in my pocket. I'm pretty psyched about this thing seeing how I only buy myself neat gadgets about once every half decade it seems.

I'm up for my "new every two" deal with Verizon in October but my contract isn't up until 2/11. Will I be able to upgrade to this at the discount price or am I screwed?

You should be able to upgrade, from what I've heard.

I think the deal is that if you are eligible for an upgrade in 2010, you can apply it earlier to the Droid X.

Negative, the early upgrade offer is based on contract end date

New Every Two is your upgrade date with an additional discount, 20 months in your contract, which is 4 months before your contract ends.

Your eligable for your annual upgrade 12 months into your contract but have to pay a $30 early upgrade fee.

    Either Dave,

how much do you guys anticipate the Droid 2/Droid X costing with a 2 year contract?

you get some sort of """"discount""""" for ordering online I know, but what would the in-store price look to be?

$299 - $100 mail rebate = $199 with two year contract is all I have heard. That's for X. I have no idea about the Droid 2.

c'mon, pj. you'll be switching phones every couple of months with the way htc/moto are spitting out the 1-up'ers. i don't want to say "screw specs", but find a phone that's rootable, overclockable, and extremely hackable (not the right word) by a community that supports that device.

i'm using a smartphone that's over a year old w/a processor that was clocked at 600mhz out the box and i've been using a 1ghz clocked custom kernel for the last couple of weeks created by a community that supports the os. hints for a 1.2ghz kernel have already dropped. as i said... the gift that keeps on giving.

do your research and have at it. :)

    What he said.... :)

As far as the Droid 2, its hasn't been officially announced, I would think maybe around 150-175, don't see why it would be the same price of the X

Ordering it online is better cause your get the discount instantly and don't have to worry about sending in a rebate, and u get free overnight shipping.
