you mean different people may have different preferences on what to listen to when driving? that is odd!

Day-time. I'm surprised night driving is winning out here. In a dark car on a dark road where everyone else in the car has already gone to sleep, I'm going to fall asleep. If I need to do it, getting a few hours of sleep and then waking up and heading out looking forward to sunrise would be better than just driving in the evening. But daylight is better still. If it's a long drive, it's in the country and traffic isn't a big deal anyway.

The traffic most of us are talking about is when you get to your destination (assuming it's a big city), not the interstates in between cities. There have been times I have left Houston and I sat in I45 traffic for over an hour getting out of the Woodlands/Conroe because of a wreck. Late night driving lets me avoid things like that. Construction and delays on 45 used to drive me nuts a few years ago when driving into Houston during the daytime. That's when I decided to get in early.

The other thing I hate is driving in the summer when it's 100. Even with the AC on, I don't know what it is about the sun, but it wears me out.

Of course the biggest issue in all this is getting a flat or something in the dark. I'd hate that. :)

I actually dragged it out and just did the drive today (during the day). I know nobody cares. Carry on .

depends what you're driving on. On a major interstate night/day doesnt matter.

If you're on a smaller highway or something in west texas (or anywhere with a high deer population) night time is much worse.

    Night...always night.

Driving during the day, especially into the sun is much more draining and traffic is heavier. The flip side is that at night speed limits are usually slightly lower and speed traps are trickier to spot. Still better than daytime though.
