Sure I would. And i would feel terrible if this incident occured after I did. I am glad my job doesn't put me in that type of situation.

Impeach him already. Your candidate would let everyone in. We are dodging a bullet and you don't want to admit it.

It's being reported this is straight out of the IS playbook. I think this is going to be very likely another case of a lone wolf who was radicalized online. It was good that he was caught alive so if there is more to this we can find out.

Imagine how much worse this could have been if the truck had a silencer

Interesting, do you say the same when those politicizing the tragedy are from the other side of the aisle? I'm legitimately asking because I don't know. For example, when Obama would do so?

I see Trump on TV right now saying he's going to end the diversity lottery (he also says we need a "quicker" and "greater" punishment for terrorists, which is weird because they usually die on site. I'm not sure how you get any quicker or greater than that). I suppose the attack is a great political opportunity for him. I don't have a big problem with ending the diversity lottery (or with continuing it). I don't really like the path we've taken to get here though.

I can just imagine dispatch rolling their eyes when they get the call. "Some guy with a long beard is trying to rent a truck! OMG!" They actually probably get calls like that on the regular.

Agreed, but I do think they should switch from a "diversity" program to a merit based program and that's not even related to the problems of terrorism, it's just the right thing to do.

The difference between Trucks and Guns is this.

Trucks: Made for transportation and carrying large loads.
    Guns: Made for killing people.

You see, you can kill people with any random object. Bats, pillows, a spoon, dumbbell...I'm sure you can invent multiple ways to kill people with random things. Guns are made for that purpose, Trucks are used for other things, the only purpose of a gun is to kill things.

why does this matter? A tool used for self defense and protecting ones property (a gun) is just as important as one used to transport things (a car).

The same arguments for banning guns can't be used for any other tool. Also, no. Trucks are responsible for getting products around the nation. That's a pretty important thing to just not have as a nation anymore.

    Choose one.

You can either ban all Trucks or ban all Guns, which one would you choose?

Not really, the difference between trucks and guns is that the right to own one of them is constitutionally protected and owning the other is merely a privilege that can be easily taken away.

It was a good effort though.

Saying they are different is not a compelling argument. That's why i asked you to explain why the difference matters. They also differ in other ways besides just use: weight, material, cost, etc....

Everything you are trying to say can be applied to mace or a taser.

    so is self defense.

neither. i try not to invade people's liberties if i can help it.

Actually you can easily use the same argument that some use for banning guns on banning any other tool....and there won't be legal reasons why you literally can't ban them as there is for guns.

Guns are responsible for protecting pretty much every person or thing we wish to have protected in the country, in many ways, they are more important than trucks or anything else.

Mace or taser doesn't kill as efficiently as a gun.

No, no, no. You don't get to slip away from the point you made.

You said guns are just as important as trucks, deep in your heart, you have to know this is wrong, but you won't admit it. A country can get along just fine without guns, Trucks are actually necessary.
