Thats the way we are going..I made it to Jackson on the first day, and stopped in Memphis earlier today to walk around downtown and went over to the park overlooking the Mississippi. I just stopped for the night in Marion,IL at a Drury with high-speed internet in room...I was suffering thru internet withdrawals.. Time to hit the pool, I think.
This Saturday, I'm going to drive almost 800 miles from Whistler BC to Jasper, Alberta. On Monday and Tuesday, I'll drive another 700 miles back across BC to Prince Rupert.
I drove 5000 miles in 6 days in October. I kinda enjoyed it. I got to see a lot of our country side. Anyway, the route: Austin to Tucson day one stayed in Tuscon for another and went to Mexico for the night and returned Tucson to Las Vegas day three and a half Las Vegas to Seattle day three and a half to four Seattle to Mount Rushmore(South Dakota) days start losing meaning Rushmore to Austin followed by lots of sleep
The most in mileage was 2700 miles from Houston to Tampa, Fla., then down to Bradenton, back to Tampa, over to Orlando, back to Tampa, then back home. Of course, this was over a 2 week period.
I'm off to Santa Cruz for a drive down HWY 1 right now. San Jose is freakin' garbage. Since its a 32 mile drive, it'll probably take like an hour to get down HWY17. The Bay Area is pure greatness in June.
