In regards to Kidd being a coach: "When Jason Kidd was playing he was always a player on the floor." I knew what he was trying to say but still funny
Just saw this for the first time (happened about 6 yrs ago)... can't believe I hadn't seen it before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoaMdc8qGho
There should be Clyde Drexler the Announcer rep level for people with negative rep that would say something like "Will make your ears (eyes) bleed".
during last night's broadcast they were talking about someone's 3pt % being 36% and clyde said anything over 36% is great and followed that up with "that's pretty much average in today's nba." great and average and the same time. clyde.
"Perfectly run fast break, don't let the ball touch the floor... unless you dribble it... heh heh heh
What he said makes sense. Over 36% can be considered a great 3 point percentage and currently 36% is the midpoint for 3 point shooting in the NBA, so while it is a great percentage, it is also the average in the NBA.
if 36% is the average in today's nba then great isn't 36%. the great shooters would be well above that. you can be a good shooter at 36%, but you can't be great if 35 guys shoot over 40% and 70 are above 37%.
Sure, 36% can still be great. If you make a million dollars a year, wouldn't you consider that a great salary even thought there are thousands and thousands of others making more? My house is great, but I am sure there are many homes that are better. I had a great vacation in Mexico, but it paled in comparison to my trip to Africa. Great does not mean best.
flawed because as a percentage of the global population, such a salary would be great and a million dollars a year is not the average income. if a million dollars a year was the average income then that wouldn't be a great salary, by definition ... average. same reasoning for your house. there are roughly 450 nba players and not all of them are 3pt shooters, so if 70 of them are shooting over 37%, 36% is not great.
