Bill - "Lowry, throws it up and in. WHOA! What a shot from the hip!"

    Clyde - "That was literally...from the hip...hehehehehe"

[Ball hits the rim 2 or 3 times but ends up falling into the net]

    Clyde - "Nothing but net!"

Haha man that one never gets old.

Clyde is so stoned, all the time.

He must have some of that Kush.

I don't have the exact wording so here goes the situation.

I think it was in the 4th quarter when Chauncey was backing Lowry down and then Lowry falls. It looked like it may have been a offensive foul and Clyde goes crazy saying that it was flagrant.

They replayed and it clearly showed that Lowry exxagerated and flopped, but Clyde still said it was flagrant. Bill just stayed quiet and I was just laughing.

I don't know if it's still the case, but with DirecTV a few years ago if you had League Pass and all of the Fox Sports channels you could just tune into one of those to get local commentary.

    Drexler on Nene.

    "He's a man down there."

he then giggled for a second after he realized how that could be interpreted.

Indeed. Against the Jazz, Clyde shot too early, missed, and left just enough time for Stockton to hit the series ending three.

so then, that means he learned from his mistakes and doesn't want the young rockets to repeat them, but this is a clyde bashing thread so i guess i better not say anything nice about the guy or logical. Um yeah that clyde is an idiot, lol.

paraphrased: "38 points in the first quarter. if that keeps up, this game will be in the 120-ish range"

Its strange, because I was listening to an radio interview with Drexler from the Tux and Tennies event, and he came off sounding very intelligent and well-spoken.

Could his Rockets broadcasting persona be an act?

    I think he's drunk when he's broadcasting.

Matt on having a big lead in the first half.

"That's exactly right. You don't want to get elated right now."

    Drexler's response:

"No, keep .... keep that down." heh heh heh

Because usually it does come out to 120 pt games, i don't think he literally meant multiply 38 by 4

    "Like clubbing baby seals"

Seriously? How would drexler know what it's like to club a baby seal?

I've noticed this too. I don't think it's an act because why would someone act that clueless?

Something has to be done about Clyde Drexler?

i mean he is a good guy and all, and he did wonders for the rockets when he played, but as a commentator( he is probably the worst i have heard besides the cavs commentator).

Not only does Bill Worrell have to correct him on almost everything that comes out of his mouth, but he is starting to make watching rockets games for me very tough.

And it's not because he is black either( i am black myself), and their are great african-american commentators in the league like stu lantz, mike tirico, greg anthony, gus johnson etc. I miss Calvin Murphy, the rockets did him so wrong.

Like i said Clyde is a great guy, but i don't know if i can watch another rockets game with him as a commentator, Bullard is terrible too, but not as bad as clyde. If we can't get Calvin Murphy back, i think don chaney would be great as a commentator, He seems to know a lot about the game(just from watching rockets live) and plus he's a former coach.
