I myself have yet to see Ming to anything similar to the Dream Shake. Perhaps Ming moves so fast that you never actually see the shake occur?
I am surprised to see all the confusion about Shanghai Shake. Too bad there is no dictionary that explains its official meaning. I definitely hope it is not the move before a fadeway jumper. Anyone can do that. To me, tt is the move that Yao makes near the basket where he fakes J O'Neal twice with his step before making a layup. Check rockets.com. There is viedo recap of Yao Ming's "Shanghai Shake" on the right side of the screen. As for Dream Shake, it is listed as one of Hakeem's most memorable moves, explained in Rockets historical video clips section at http://www.nba.com/rockets/history/history_video.html. In this move, he fakes out Robinson twice before making a layup. These moves are special in the sense that I haven't see any other NBA players doing it.
Lancet, Again, the moves that you are refering to are not the Dream Shake and Shanghai Shake. The shake move is indeed before they shoot the turnaround jumper or with Hakeem, he would also spin counter clockwise into the lane. Yao really just does the shake before he shoots the turnaround.
The Dream shake was done with his back to the basket and the defender. Dream would get the ball with the defender behind him and do a double fake before taking his shot. He would fake right, fake left, or vice versa, and then take a fadeaway or a jump hook. Yao doesn't do this double fake which is what's known as the Dream Shake.
