    Here's a cool stat:

Since 1992, Dream's teams were 14-6 when facing elimination in the playoffs.

Shaq is currently 5-7 for his career, which includes 4 wins during the threepeat years with Kobe.

We know the real reason why Shaq won with the Lakers.

This is something from Jet magazine in 1995:

Legendary center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, whose trademark sky hook made opposing defenses tremble, recently gave current NBA center Hakeem Olajuwon his seal of approval at his old position.

Abdul-Jabbar, 47, noted he favors the play of Houston Rockets superstar center Olajuwon over the play of Shaquille O'Neal.

"Shaquille is certainly a force to be reckoned with. And he's going to be around for a long time. But I think Hakeem is clearly a better player. He can do more things on the court," Abdul-Jabbar observed.

Abdul-Jabbar, who played until he was 41 years old, has them both beat in championship rings; he has 6 of them--5 with the L.A. Lakers and 1 with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Here's something else I'd like to add as trivia:

Who's the only player to win regular season MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP all in the same year?

I'm sorry, I do not approve of the question because it is completely unfair. Also I don't like comparing players from different eras. Okay Shaq/Dream did meet in the playoffs, but when it happened Shaq had 3 years in the league, Dream with 13. Please don't tell me experience doesn't mean a TON in all areas in life. Shaquille O'Neal is not near the player Hakeem ever was, but he IS more dominant. 4 championships vs 2. Had he been at his peak during the MJ years, MJ would NOT have 6 rings. Plain and simple. Shouldn't this question be on NBA Dish?

Dominance can be asserted on both sides of the ball - about the only thing Shaq did better than Hakeem was score. Even in his prime, he wasn't half the defender Hakeem was. Hakeem could offset Shaq's points, but Shaq couldn't offset the impact Dream made on the defensive end.

    Rookie,
Anything about the legendary HAKEEM THE DREAM will ALWAYS be part of GARM and NEVER be on NBA Dish.

This is not a question of what you think of Hakeem, its a question if you are REAL FAN or if its time for you to leave Clutchfans and try out other places like Phoenix fans, orlando fans or Laker fans.

I mean, no offense, but some people were not meant to be Rocket fans. You know you go to college and become an accountant, than you realize that you rather be a ski instructor.

Same thing. the people who voted for Shaq, they need to start thinking about other teams cause the Rockets are the wrong team for them regardless of where they live or how much they've spent on the Rockets.

    Its what's in your heart.

You absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Perhaps this thread should be locked because there really is no question. There really is no argument, only flaming...and pointless flaming at that. In now way did I put Olajuwon down, nor would I ever. You can't. In realism, I can't stand Shaq. Sorry I said anything. But don't question whether I'm a Rocket fan or not.

Hakeem is the better, WITHOUT NO DOUBT! I don't like the poll options though. It makes it seem like I and the rest of us who voted for Olajuwon only did it because we're rocket-fans and not that Olajuwon was the better of 'em two.

I thought Olajuwon was better even before I became a fan of the Rockets so bad poll options, whoever made it.

Btw, will never forget that Shaq started to cry after Olajuwon swept him in the finals, and the pathetic Shaq went out in the media talking bs about him being better bla bla bla, and the funniest thing was the fact that he challenged Olajuwon to play 1-on-1 against him, how pathetic wasn't that?

it won't be locked cause good will always defeat evil.

i specifically put if you pick Hakeem then you are a Rockets fan. its a no brainer for people who are true fans, but the fake fans, let their heads pop up like weeds in the grass.

In a way, he has a point. Shaq has made racist remarks towards yao ming, and has often made yao ming inferior on media. Hakeem never talked down on other players. Shaq does. In fact, he talked down on Magic after he left to LA, and talked down on LA after he goes to miami, and now he blames miami and talked down on them now that he is in phoenix.

The reason he put in such a bias option is also because of the player's personality. Would you vote for shaq if he dissed your very own big man and made racist remarks towards him? Would you vote for a guy who disrespected mutombo?

No wonder Kobe and Shaq never worked out. Both of these guys wanted their own spot light. They couldn't share it like T-mac and Yao

This whole dominance argument is really played. It is really subjective to the competition.

Lets say I am the dominant center at my 24 hr fitness for the past few years. Does that mean that I'm better than a guy who had way more skills than me 10 yrs ago, who didn't dominate all the competition because there were more skilled guys playing there then?

The only thing that you can quantify between eras is skills because we all know stats and 'dominance' can be inflated depending on the competition.

I think Shaq is a big blowhard but to be fair that was a publicity stunt for Taco Bell that Dream was in on.

dream has never dissed his teammates and coaches like shaq has. lots of things he could have said. he even handled pippen well. can u imagine what shaq would say? also dream and rudy love and respect each other. dream calls him 'coach' while shaq calls pat riley other stuff.

Stop it, Dream has had issues in the past two with his anger and punched the lights out of a couple players in the past. Only through his religious beliefs did he turn into the Dream we know today.

Dream was far more superior on all sides of the game, period...

I had the Shaq vs. Hakeem Pogs. I've even kept some of them.
