People don't get it, this isn't about "Giving Dream what he deserves", the Rockets already did this. And the Rockets aren't trying to "show up Dream up" by "lowballing" him, the Rockets are trying to off him the maximum without breaking up the team. And the Dream of 1999 is far different, and then the Dream of now. ------------------ What if I say to you that the universe is a three-legged horse, eh? What then? - Russell Hoban
Jeff, I liked your opinion article; however, one cannot really be fair and objective without mentioning the salary cap and the luxury tax. For all of those who say he is falling apart and he is old and so on, please keep in mind that had it not been for the cap many team including the Rockets would have paid him at least $7-8M. In other words, if the cap was $55M, we would most likely not have all the confusion going on and the man would have been able to stay in his hometown and end his career. So one cannot blame the Dream for being insulted and frustrated because the cap is forcing teams to offer him less than he is reasonably worth. The cap is a major piece of the puzzle. ------------------
Not this time Newbiehad. I still give up. I really feel it this time. The Rockets aren't going to offer him more money or years, and Hakeem is not going to take their current offer. He's off to Toronto, or Miami, or Indiana. Just do NOT LET HIM GO TO UTAH!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ Protrolls.com! The next person to post on my message board will win a prize! The ZRBucks!
At least he's been honest when he said "he's playing but not here". There's some deep seated bitterness in that statement now that the events are unraveling. ------------------
Those words are true, but they do not apply in this case. I have truly lost all hope. ------------------ Protrolls.com! The next person to post on my message board will win a prize! The ZRBucks!

Newbie, Get the one off raptors.com with that goofy Barney in tennis shoes wearing the home jersey. I don't know if there is one from the back but if there is get it and change the name to Olajuwon. Olajuwon symbolized by a goofy dinosaur, that would scare the bejesus out him. ------------------ He's very popular, Ed. Newbie, Start a thread every once in awhile...OK. Take some liberties. Show Kagy and Rimbaud how it is done. Stick you neck out like TheFreak did with his reaching "We will never win again" thread. No fair bashing newbie's, until you rise up and start a thread. btw: when the hell is the last time grummett started a thread?
I agree that the Rockets have already given dream MORE than he deserves. My argument is they paid him 16.5 MILLION dollars last year for exactly what? For 58 games, 26.5 min/game, 7.4 rebounds, and 11.88 points. Those numbers sound like two things to me: 1) Keon Clark minus about 13 years or 2) a center you wouldn't pay more than FOUR MILLION DOLLARS TO! Hakeem has nothing to gripe about except for the fact that his agent is Satan and that's his fault for hiring him. Welcome to Houston Keon... ------------------ "It is better to be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."
