SPace Ghost I was wondering the same thing. Only thing I came up with is this. Look at Chicago, and ORlando. They grabbed players in their last years in their contracts so then when that contract ended they would have a huge amount under the cap to get studs. They actually endured losing to do this. Almost backfired on Orlando though.. Who would have thought Doc Rivers was going to be that good a coach? hehe So if Vancouver can unload a scrub like Reeves, and some other guys they dont want for an aging Star that makes $16 million next year they would be wise to do it. Then the year after next, they should be under the cap by a good margin and get players that they REALLY wanted. ------------------
Space Ghost-Reeves is almost as fat.....6 years, 65 million (hey, that's worse than Cato!) Dream is on his last year, perhaps they're clearing cap room. As I said, I've heard people say, that Vancouver is gonna package Abdur-Rahim and Reeves, so they can get some value. Both have large contracts, and Abdur-Rahim wants out. Abdur-Rahim's contract expires in 2005, and is about 12 million per year. Reeves is about 11 million per year, that equals 23 million. Hakeem's 16 million, plus Walt's 4.5, plus Bryce, plus part of our exception is right there. And what about Othella, if we saved him too, that'd be great! We would probably have to add KT in that case. Not many teams have 20 million of cap that they can move that is somewhat expendable, while still giving Vancouver players who can play. Heh, we're talking about trading for Vancouver's whole front line, lol. ------------------ Rockets fans wanted at hoopsboards.com Draft Chat, NBA Chat, Team Chat, and more!
