I wish Rockets had a "punk" like this who does everything necessary to help his team win. I blame Morey for this. He took a big risk drafting a "do it all" guy in Royce White that year but passed on the real do it all guy in Green. He he did it three times. I've seen enough of Green in college basketball to know he helped his team win by many ways, where is Morey's advanced stats?
They couldn't win title not because of dirty play, but because of a prime Jordan. The dirtier pistons won two titles right before Jordan reached his peak.
When I saw that play live, I thought he clearly purposely fall down and push backward to take Ariza out of the play. Looks, if it's not to the O advantage, fine, don't call anything. But it lead to a wide open Curry - it was a purposeful take down to get an advantage and an offensive foul definitely should have been called.
The video in this thread doesnt start until he is halfway done falling down. Watch one where you can see it before he starts falling.
The thing that I cant stand about him is he thinks he is a basketball genius. The other thing is dude always has his mouth open.
Green is the kind of dirty player that gets away with things like Bruce Bowen. Royce White on the other hand is known to get ejected in the Dleague in consecutive games.... He gets thrown out of the game because he gets frustrated with himself. Green is a team player and White is selfish. Tells you all.
This has been discussed ad nauseum. White's agent had the wrong info, he thought Mchale wanted Royce, but he didn't. Mchale wanted to draft Tyler Zeller. He wanted a C really bad. White fits that, all or nothing-potential superstar-draft choices, Morey & Hinkie have often mentioned in interviews.
Sorry I did not get that. White's agent has been misinformed....but why did the Rockets select White any way? White's agent does not control the Rockets. There must be someone wanting White at that time.
We are talking about enforcer types in this thread. Regardless whether someone thinks White has star potential, he was just not a good enforcer. He got himselves more techs and ejections than one can think. He destroys his team singlehandedly that way rather than helping it.
