History is written by the victors.

That was the most obvious lesson of that I had ever seen in basketball. The Rockets and Warriors hated each other. There were no real buddies there so Draymond completely rewrites the history at every opportunity as if we were pushovers and never stood a chance.

Everyone in media cosigns it. In fact, the last few times I actually saw it brought up was by JJ because he's tight with CP3. But, at this point the history is cemented that we were just a minor annoyance en route to all of their championhips.

This is Respect. This is all because we had them on the ropes, we know it, they know it - it’s well known we had the best shot at knocking them off in their prime - if only our stars had a strong hammy and heart to show up when we need him most, we would have shocked the world.

The Rockets were better than Golden State that year and win a 7 game series most of the time. They can even have Iggy back if the Rockets get a healthy Luc. The idea that Harden couldn’t lead a championship caliber team is trash. That was an all time great team that could compete in any era. It just didn’t happen in 18.

If they ever do a Last Dance or docuseries on this Warriors team (and they just might) then don't mention the Rockets at all in it. They are all acting like we got swept by them or something while we were their main roadblock in the west.

Those teams had two rivals, Lebron James Cavs and Harden/CP3 Rockets.

Only other team that's gotten close to beating the Curry/Klay/Green Warriors ironically enough are the Grizzlies.

A lot of assumptions here. Win most of the time based on what? Harden and CP3 have both continued to come up short when it matters most as evidenced by the last few years. Luc was nowhere near Iggy’s level. Ever. It wasn’t like he was stopping Durant or even slowing him down even if he had been healthy. You’re right… Harden did lead a championship caliber team but he wasn’t going to win a Championship even with a healthy CP3. Harden shot 41% from the field and 25% from 3pt and averaged 5 turnovers per game in that series against the Warriors. Sorry but that’s just not good enough. Even if we somehow got by the Warriors that year I can’t see Harden beating LeBron in a 7 game series. I just can’t.

We had an even better chance the next year when the series was tied 2-2 and KD got injured in the second half. Win game 5 at Golden state and we could’ve closed the series out at home in 6. Instead we couldn’t handle business in game 5 and got eliminated at home in 6 after blowing a big lead. Curry showed up when it mattered most. Harden didn’t. People blame that year on CP3. Well CP3 outplayed Harden in that elimination/last game together.

How's he gonna say they wouldn't have beat the Cavs without KD if Cavs at full strength needed a comeback vs the team with himself suspended a game, iggy hurt and bogut out and curry playing like hot garbage yet we had them at near full strength(dont give me this iggy=cp3 value to each team) down 3-2 and down double digits both close out games without cp iirc? Klay was most important in game 6 for them, but KD had 34-5-5-3blk in g7. Take KD off and we can beat them in 6 or 7 without CP. Add CP and no, it's not a stretch to imagine we would have closed them out with KD.
CAVS ended up with no Kyrie. They sweep them even without KD. Stop it. Raptors also got them completely injury dismantled.
CAVS and TOR just got luckier in their time vs GS than us...

Ultimately, it is on us to blow leads in g6 and g7. CP out is no excuse for that. Nerves =bricking every shot when it matters. That's history, but i will fully believe CP's leadership would have calmed everyone down and got the job done and if not, he would have carried them on his back like g5. He was on a mission. Damn shame.

So beating us was his favourite championship moment but they would have beaten us even if they didn't have KD.

Pick an angle and stick to it, clown. You can't say that the Rockets were this juggernaut challenge that you overcame and it's your proudest moment and then later say you would have knocked them off without the 2-time Finals MVP.

Draymond transitioning into the media even before he finishes playing is possibly the worst thing to happen to NBA coverage since Shaq joined Inside the NBA

he’s been trying way too hard to dismiss us as a threat over the years…deep down, he knows we would’ve beaten them in 2018, and we really had no business doing so seeing as how it was Harden, aging CP3, and a bunch of role players vs him, Klay, KD, and Steph

just on face value, that’s a complete mismatch when it comes to total amount of talent, yet we had them on the ropes

Finally, someone who agrees with me that lowering the Inside the NBA's average IQ well into the mid double-digits was a bad move.
