Drake is alright when he writes but he cant freestyle much. His new album is to soft for me. I think he tried to much to make his songs sound to much like
" Best I've Ever Had" . Tempo wise..

In terms of new school rappers..I really only listen to Lupe and Game.

    The rest are kinda weak.

After listening to Recovery by Eminem, all other wannabe rappers are obsolete.

"His metaphors and similies ain't similar to them not at all
If they don't like it they can all get ****ed, instead of sucking him off." - Eminem

Man all I have to say to 50 is Jadakiss destroyed him on Checkmate. After all these years that's all I remember.

50s first CD was good though, I didn't care to listen to the rest. 50 changed his genre, and when he did that he lost his fans and I think dude lost respect from some of his fans since he's been in a beef with everyone. In my mind at least whatever 50 does has no relevance to me.

As for Kanye, I don't think he has bandwagon fans. Of course the pop fans he's picked up are bandwagon fans but Kanye's talent has been respected by his peers. Kanye's problem is he seems like a egotistical celeb, either way he's definitely a heavyweight. His worst album many will say is 808s and still some will say it's not that bad. Also I sort of feel like Kanye's ego and honesty is also what draws people to him, and if he suddenly became this humbe guy no one would really believe it anyway.

Eminem is Eminem. He's definitely a musical legend and relapse just wasn't that good IMO. Which is okay, every one of these guys release a bad album once in a while and for me that is definitely Em's. Also it was sort of a comeback album, but he's always going to have support.

Drake isn't bad though, he's not great...but he isn't bad. I think Drake just needs to focus on his style, he can't go on talking about certain things and if he wants to appeal to women there is nothing wrong with that.

At first I despised the guy but he has grown on me for some reason or another. I just like honesty from my music artist, if you here to make party songs and love songs...good for you. I think a lot of more than casual Rap/hip hop fans think that if that's all you do then it makes you less of a rapper for some reason.

Also to those saying they have listened, how can you judge a CD if you skip through most of the songs? When I listen to a CD the first time I listen to it all the way through.

    Hum.

I'm a huge fan of Drake.

I guess that's the difference though. A lot of you seem to go in close-minded and only listen to what you hear on the radio.
I would say his lyrics are pretty decent compared to most.

Chamillionaire described Drake's music as "smooth" .. and said that it was something different and new. I agree.

Don't listen to any new rap unless its Jay-Z.

I wish rap could go back to the way it was when we was kids, but things change, and that's the way it is.

Lupe is amazing though, and more people should listen to him.
