I would rather listen to Taylor swift rap than listen to these newbies make a mockery of what used to be an art form. Same goes to those reggaetoneros, with the exception of calle13 and pitbull those guys are clever.

I've read better lyrics on this message board by moes than what some of these "rappers" are writing. If only kobe bryant started rapping again. This time around, he would be considered a genius.

i'm not a big fan of rap in general but i've been listening to eminen's recovery on a regular basis. i think it's that good. i don't think i've listened to Drake's cd through its entirety once. hell, i don't think i've even finished a whole song. the beats were good but lyrically, its like a 5th grader's love letters.

Pitbull sucks. Calle 13 was good at the beginning, than he started rapping to mariachi beats and making songs with Nelly Furtado.

The good reggaetoneros are Julio Voltio, Tego Calderon, Vico C, Eddie Dee, sadly they barely come up with music anymore.

And....for all of these rappers who do the whole rap-sing combination in songs, they better thank the real creator of that idea: Ja Rule.

I'll get flamed for this, especially from the Curtis Jackson fans, but Ja was and is still underrated.

At least he wrote his own lyrics, created the true "rap duet" and stayed loyal to his brand.

Now I have to deal with a tween rapping about Ciroc in the club.

Lmao you're worried about Curtis Jackson's fans? Maybe Eminem fan's since everyone's on his bandwagon now that recovery came out but 50 Cent? His first song how i rob he tried dissing Big Pun, Jadakiss, Fat Joe (old school good fat joe) Wu Tang, DMX, Kurupt and Jay-Z (alot more). He got murdered for like 2 years straight after that ****. He sucks and has no fans.

Curtis has no fans? He sold 250,000 after one week on Before I Self-Destruct.

On "How To Rob," he was trying to impress with word play and "gangster" lyrics. A year later, dude gets shot 9 times, doesn't shoot back and uses his life a victim as a gimmick.

He's still got a ton of fans, even though I think The Game, Ja, Fat Joe, Jay, Jadakiss, Styles and even Officer Ricky wore his butt out lyrically.

Ja Rule still has a loyal fan base. "The Mirror" was a good digital album. The new stuff I've heard from him is good too. The problem is, he won't be accepted back into the game immediately because so many people jumped on 50 cent's back. They forgot about Ja making 4 platinum albums before 50 was shot 9 times.

I don't think the majority of Em's fans are on a bandwagon. They've stuck with him even after Encore and some other mediocre production. I think Recovery is a pretty good comeback album.

Drake's fanbase is all chicks. I would feel embarrassed to say I bump Drake all the time.

I would blast Nikki Minaj before Drake, like somebody said earlier in this thread she is 100 times worse than Drake and people act like she is the second coming. Ugh.....

That fan base is all of those kids who still own G-Unit shoes etc. He was nice his first 2 albums in Get Rich or Die Tryin' and the Massacre but than he came up with Curtis, which was horrid. He's kind of like a ghost now. I know he did "how to rob" to get big and it worked, he got big in the wrong way though because than the rappers he dissed exposed him as scared little steroid pumping girl who used his near death experience for his benefit.

Ja was nice. I think the Eminem beef kind of slowed his career down, after that he wasn't the same. "Clap Back" was one of my all time favorite Hip Hop songs.

After Eminem Show "all he does curse, nobody wants to here mother****er 50 times a song" After Encore "he's a good person, he has feeling, D12 this;long live proof" After relapse, "eminems has finally gone crazy and has turned into a pill popping white boy" after recovery " best rapper ever". It's okay though, Eminem has always been a Hip Hop heavyweight in my eyes, one of the best to ever do it. However, him and Kanye West are the rappers with the most bandwagon fans.

Her voice is overly annoying, and she is too overhyped because of her ok face and fake booty. Every time I hear that your love song I feel more of my brain cells dying off. Its almost as bad as listening to that pretty boy swag song or anything of soulja boys.

Drake is the prototypical mainstream rap star. He's non-threatening cuz he's Canadian and a former nickolodeon (or some channel) tv star, light skinned (you know it matters), has a simple rhyme scheme that people can emulate and rap/sing with which makes his songs popular, and he throws in a lot of mainstream references which people can relate to.

But it goes the other way too.. he's not a terrible rapper. He's better than some other rappers who made it big before him (50 cent was terrible in almost all his verses after getting big). I can't listen to many of his songs because i don't like his hooks or when he sings, but Thank me Later has a few good songs (mostly produced by Kanye).

For rap fans out there that dislike Drake... check out J. Cole's new mixtape.. it's the exact opposite haha.

I like Drake, and fyi he has never tried to be a gangsta or act like he's from the ghetto. He's a half-white half-jewish Canadian rapper who grew up in a rich neighborhood and his first name is Aubrey LOL. If anything he had odds ridiculously stacked against him trying to make it in the rap game.

His new album is hit and miss

Nicki is a pretty decent rapper for a female (kind of a Trina/Lil Kim combo) but both her singles have been horrendous.

Maybe not gangsta, but he constantly implies not to mess with him because he'll do something. If anything, he'll run to twitter and write about it.

I just can't respect his movement. It's not creative to me.
