Best Buy (and other stores) will have the PS3/XBox versions for around $35 on Black Friday (not sure about the PC version), but it's the "early bird" sale so they may run out - who knows. Also, if it matters to anyone, from what I've read, the console versions are easier or, should I say, were made easier to play than the PC version. Thanks to work and the need for washer shopping, I haven't played the blasted thing in about 3 or 4 days... arrgghhh... must... get... fix.
Is that really the EA store, or is there an ES store that I'm so out of the loop that I didn't know about it? I have the 360 version, but would like to try the PC version for easier control of the party members.
Just started playing this but already put in a good 10 hours. Played like 6 hours straight off the bat when I first started (which is bad because I didn't start playing until 10pm.. do the math). I really like it. The story is great. The voice acting is great. You really, really get a feel for who the characters are. I really like how the action is. Very satisfying action with explosions etc. 10/10
I was expecting the main character to speak like Shepard in Mass Effect. 3hrs into it, overall good game already smashed Iona??
Crap, I missed it. It's back up to full price today. EA has it going until tomorrow. I have decide if I'm being too wasteful having two different copies of the same game.
BTW, you can get the digital download edition from Steam or EA if you don't want all the concept art, additional dvd crap that many people don't care about. You'll still get the additonal equipment and in-game content that the regular edition doesn't have. It's about $20 cheaper, too, at around $45.
$35 is a great deal. Of course, realize this is a 50+ hour, fantasy RPG set in a time like the middle ages. If that sounds enjoyable, go for it.
Only reason I can think of to get it on a platform over PC is if your PC can't run it. Once I saw the specs and my cpu could run it, was a no brainer. I love this game, it makes you think and react to different situations. I think its funny reading the DA forums and seeing the MMO folks not liking it and complaining about overpoweredness in a single player game.
I'm planning on buying this but I've heard some discouraging things about the game. Some are saying the story isn't that good, saying that its too romance orientated. Too much sex in the game and since some younger kids might be playing the game as well, I might not be inclined to buy a game like that. How is the gameplay? I don't know enough about it, only that its similar to the online game World of Warcraft. Also is it replayable? I never buy one and done games. Any game I own, I have beaten at least two or three times. Just some things I've heard, most people I ask do say its a great game.
I'm about 30 hours in the 360 version. What a dog of an ugly game graphics wise. Looking at HD videos of the PC version, I can't believe they couldn't replicate that quality. The visuals don't technically look better than what I'd assume is capable on the 360/ps3. Does anyone with technical knowledge know why the huge gap in graphics? I don't have the game guide or anything so it takes me so long to make important decisions. There's a lot of moral ambiguity which adds a lot to the game. Everyone these days does a morality system and so often its boring. The antagonists are very good communicators of their points of view.
OK, this game is not for kids. Let me repeat that, the game is not for kids. Its rated M for a reason. That being said, you can run the game without going into the romances. Other than the user interface, its not all that similar to world of warcraft. The story is fantastic with lots of unexpected twists and gut wrenching decisions. The replayability with multiple origins and several ways to make a viable party is huge in this game. I have about several characters around level 6-7 right now with another level 10 and a level 13. There is just so many different ways to play the game I always want to try something different.
I picked it up at BB on black friday...got there around 10 and there were plenty of copies...it appears there had tons of the games/cd's that were doorbusters...It's my xmas present so I'll play after xmas...can't wait...
Alright, I'm getting pissed. I'm in The Fade and I went through each level and did everything, then when I freed my party members who were in their nightmares, they just disappeared. I need them to fight the Sloth in the Inner Sanctum? Anyone else come across this when you freed your party members? They sort of fade away and ask why you aren't coming. BTW, I'm pretty sure I have a serious video game addiction problem.
Spoiler Keep freeing them all, when you get to the center, they will all be there waiting for you to tackle the last boss.
Spoiler Are you sure you've unlocked everything? Make sure to go back to the very first level and use the spirit form to access the spirit door there. Once you've unlocked everything then you should be able to access the final stage locate in the center of the grid. Your party members will reappear to fight the Sloth.
