I was a human warrior also, but the most I could get through was 2 waves  . I was playing on normal, so maybe my character (or maybe I as the player) wasn't good enough. I got frustrated and reverted to an earlier save before I got to Redcliffe to do the DLC quests instead. I completely forgot that I could have just changed the difficulty to get through that part instead.

I've got a question about the Stone Prisoner quest, though. It's not a spoiler really since it explains it in the DLC description, but when I got the control rod from the merchant, he said he'd mark the location of the golem on the map. He told me the town, but it wasn't a place I could travel to (it wasn't on the map) and the quest disappeared off my journal. Is this a bug, or am I just supposed to come across that town later on in the game?

@FranchiseBlade: I don't think there's a turn-based option, but you can press the spacebar to freeze the action and then switch to different characters to give them commands. Alternatively, you can press backslash to give complex actions to each character.

Spacebar stops action and you can set up your strategy. There is also a setting in the options where you will automatically go into "pause" mode when an enemy targets someone in your group and begins combat. Also, you can hit the tactics button at the top of the screen to set up tactics for each of your party members.

Weird. I've been thinking the game was too easy. I'm having to heal here and there, but haven't been too close to dying yet, but again, I just left the original castle/keep and started battling in the Korcari Wilds. I'm a 2H/Human Warrior and loading up on nothing but STR initially.

Yeah, I'll have to figure out the equivalent for the xbox. Best Buy kind of sucks(most everyone already knows this.). I went to pre-order the PC version. For some reason they didn't have it. So then I just went with the xbox version instead. It isn't really their fault I didn't pre-order online and then just pick up in store on Tues. But they are lame for not having the PC pre-order in store before Tues.

I like the Xbox version, but it's a slight pain to enter things like a dog's name or anytime there is "typing".

Ah, ok. I didn't know you were playing the 360 version. I could never play an RPG on a console. It just feels weird. You could've just bought it on Steam, Direct2Drive, etc., downloaded it and played on the PC. That's what I did. It had its issues initially, but I was playing the day of the release with no problems other than an initial glitch. I think my knuckles would explode and I'd have blisters trying to manipulate all my characters and inventory as much as I do during a gaming session on the console. :D

I used to only game on the PC. I did play mass effect, and Fallout 3 on the 360. I thought I'd go back to my roots since it is balder's gate-esque, and do the PC, but once it seemed like a hassle at the store, I just opted for the 360. I can see the advantages in playing the PC version, but I'm getting a little better at the 360 controls.

What choice did you guys make at Warden's keep?

    1) Did you kill Avernus and the demon?
    2) Did you let both live?
    3) Did you kill Avernus and let the Demon live?
    4) Did you kill the Demon and let Avernus experiment with the Wardens?
    5) Did you kill the Demon and let Avernus live but not experiment on Wardens anymore?

Do you guys think letting Avernus live will allow access to more abilities later on? And letting him experiment on Wardens might mean he will kill Allistair later on?

Holy crap this game is excellent. I love the fact that I can wipe before finishing the tutorial. Going human rogue/ranger path to start with. Loved the battle in the tower at Ostagar where you got a few rooms of mobs jumping you in the hall. Had to dive into a room to get out of the arrow fire. And the ogre was just, wow.

I don't know if I'll get to play much today, but this game has lived up to the hype so far. I was hoping the graphics would be a bit better, but hell the gameplay is more important to me and that blows away most anything I've played recently. It really feels like the successor to the Baldur's Gate series.

Can you grind levels in this game? ...like fighting respawning enemies over and over again until you are over powered.. it's always one of the funner aspects of an RPG, i think..

Agree with both points. Enjoying the game so far. Did hope the graphics would be better, but the gameplay is much more important.

This game kicks ass, and is definitely better than I expected. I really didn't like Mass Effect or Jade Empire too much, but Dragon Age is more like Bioware's older better rpgs.

Playing the PC version and enjoying every minute of it.

So I'm thinking about picking this up today. I've played KotOR and Jade Empire and loved them but I never played Baldur's Gate or any of those games. I'm kind of skeptical, should I pick it up or wait for Assassin's Creed 2?

Assuming you're being serious (lol) :

No. You're thinking of MMO's. :) This is more of a true RPG.

You guys should NOT play online games. They are addicting and really harmful in one way or another. Deny it ally you want, but video gaming isn't the friendly casual gaming that it once was. Now...it can lead to depression, suicide, or MURDER

It's true, though. Anyone who doesn't agree with me is a Nazi.

Also, please consider this flow chart of the online gaming life:

Do not deny it, for within it is the forgotten legendary power of the dragons.
