Exactly. If we agree to terms with Lin, the Suns agree to them with Felton and we trade Lowry to Toronto, which all seem very possible, Goran is going to regret leaving that offer on the table.
Toronto may be his best bet if we comes to terms with Lin and do not work a deal for Lowry with them or back to the Suns if the Hornets match Gordan's offer.
Maybe New Orleans but they have not been mentioned yet and I doubt they would go at $10 Mil per year for him.

NOt only that but if the Knicks match and Goran is gone, now we're really in a pickle. Welcome to Houston, Kyle Lowry. And goodbye to any chance of acquiring Dwight. Doesn't make sense.

I agree, our best bet is Morey tells Lin here is our offer, we will make it if NY signs Nash, otherwise we can't do it.

It's a waste of time. We'll have to include Lowry in a trade to acquire Dwight. That leaves us without a legit PG. We won't win. And Dwight will walk.

There's no sense in trading for Dwight unless we are going to have the pieces around him to compete for a championship. I said compete, not necessarily win. For Dwight to want to stay here, he will have to be able to see that we have pieces in place and the flexibility to add more pieces. That is, if we don't already have the pieces around him when and if he shows up. We lose our PGs and we have no chance.

So place your bet, how long until Dragic comes back around to us?

Beautiful. The lower Dragic's asking price comes down, the better that fifth year and 7.5% annual raises will look to him.

Goran and his agent are doing their due diligence, seeing if there is an offer out there that beats all the others. If they can find it, and if Goran likes the fit there, then more power to him. Hell, I think he'd even give the Rockets the opportunity to match/beat it before signing.

Here's hoping the Rockets and Dragic can get something done.

How do the Lin and Asik offers affect the ability to re-sign Dragic?

Barring any trades, in order to make offers to both Asik and Lin on July 11, the Rockets will need to renounce their rights to Dragic. However, if the Knicks match Lin's offer sheet, the Rockets can actually rescind their prior renouncement and get back Dragic's Bird rights. They would have to hope that Goran would not sign a contract before July 14, in order to give the Rockets a chance to pony up more money for Dragic if the Lin offer sheet is matched.

Still, we're getting ahead of ourselves here. There is no offer yet to Lin. And even if there is an offer, there's no telling if Lin will accept it. So we're several steps behind where the Rockets currently stand with Asik. And even the Asik situation won't be resolved until July 14.

If I were Goran, I am waiting until the dust settles on Steve Nash. One of the losing teams might just get desperate enough to meet my demand (or come close to it) in order to avoid getting killed by internet message board fans and sports radio talking heads.

More like Karma for Goran. If it wasnt for a hurt Lowry Goran would picking through league minimum deals. Goran should thank Morey for giving hin a secobd chance.

Thanks. I was trying to see if an offer to Lin indicated that Morey decided to forget about Dragic 100%.

In the likely scenario that Dragic does not find a team willing to pay his asking price of $10 million/year, I would assume that Dragic would choose to stay in Houston if all deals are equal.

I'm hoping Morey is thinking along the same lines and won't offer Lin a contract if it made it impossible to sign Dragic to the deal Morey can agree to.

Suns offer to Dragic is 4 years 30 mill, Houston offer might be for more so if he turns it down tomorrow Suns turn attention to Felton.

If Kevin Martin is worth 12, Goran is worth 10.
