Goran is pricing himself out of the market. Even Steve Nash is signing for less than Dragic wants. $8 million is a offer from us and I think he'll soon realize that.

    i want goran to stay!

hes the PERFECT pg for this team!

too bad the '10 million dollar demand' probably came from his agent as part of negotiating.

He's simply bargaining. He has to settle for $8-9 mil, b/c that's what Phoenix is apparently offering according to Woj.

i am not sure dragis is rushing for something. he may shop around to see who bites his price. when nash and lin settle down, he may turn to those teams that are still looking for start pg.

btw, what dragic asked is a contract starting at 10. considering the length of what he asked, maybe 4 years, the average could be 11+ mil per year over the length of the deal.

I agree. Looks like Suns are meeting with Beasley again today and will prob make him an offer. So that eats up more cap space for them.

Dragic had to do his due dilligence and see what the market was offering him. Even if we offer Lin a deal I think Morey knows the Knicks will match it. Knicks dont want to include Shumpert in a S&T to Suns for Nash. No word of Dragic accepting offers yet so looks like we are still in play. This remids me of the Landry situation. We just have to wait and let the market set prices. I think morey rellay wants to bring Dragic back., just at the right price.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but, to me it sure looks like the Suns might not be willing to meet Dragic's asking price either.

I'm curious if its Gogi himself that values himself so much, or his agent whispering sweet nothings into his ear... "you can get mooooooooore..."

That still leaves Raptors, Mavs and Lakers.

Because the Suns arent stupid. Morey isn't either and Goran's agent could end up costing Dragic money by waiting.

blame dragic. he threw a low ball to morey. it forced morey to change the direction and to pursue lin.

It is impossilbe for the Lakers unless Goran take the mini MLE at $3 Mil per. Or they ahve something to give us in a sign and trade which is doubtful.
Dallas is rumored to not be interested at the price he is asking.
Tornto is a threat but rumor is they prefer to trade for Lowry.
We need to hope that the Suns come to an agreement with Felton when he visits and they fill their PG position with him. Even then if the Hornets match Gordan the Suns may go back after Goran, but hopefully by then we have him wrapped up unless we make an agreement with Lin today.

I wonder if there are other factors to the two parties being "far" apart. I understand testing the market but starting at $8 million should not be the only reason that Goran's return is highly unlikely.

Will Moery sign Lin without knowing Dragic's decision? If he does and NY matches can we still make a play for Dragic. I hope Morey is just using Lin as a negotiating ploy to sign Dragic.

I could be wrong, but barring a trade, I think we would have to renounce Dragic's bird rights to sign Lin to an offer-sheet.
