Being born in Hosuton probably makes my opinion biased a bit but I think Houston is a great city too.

The problem with most star players is that they don't see Houston as an impact team in NBA. We were when we had TMac and Yao. Now that we lost our stars, we could even get Dragic to stay. WTF.

I am sick and tired of mediocrity.

Let me give you a run down of the PGs in the west...Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Westbrook, and Parker...

If he has a better year than these guys...then props to him...

That is not my concern, my concern is that the team is making progress towards getting better, they are failing miserably at that.

If all they are worried about is putting butts in the seats than the fans should be boo-ing Les and Morey at every game.

SF3 in his prime would destroy competition amongst the PGs we have now...and seriously its not even a contest...and KLow was statistically having his best year till a freak infection sidelined him...and enabled the Rockets to showcase Dragic...

True - But if he runs the show in Phoenix and has finishers around him like Gordon and Beasely his numbers are going to exceed a couple of those guys and if Phoenix is a winning team he will be looked at as one of the main reasons for that turnaround - which will garner him votes.

I suspect he has a much higher chance of making the All star team than any Rockets player.

Gordon...will most likely be retained by New Orleans...they arent letting go the piece from the Chris Paul trade go for nothing...

Beasley...funny how you bring up crack smoking drug addicts...(PHX is a lot closer to mexico than Minny...:) )

Really? Nothing wrong with management? I guess Rudy, JVG, and Adelman all left on their own. Gordon intending to meet doesn't equal meeting. And these meetings are not equaling signings. What does Phoenix have that Houston doesn't? They have Dragic who went back despite being traded.

Disagree. Out of Paul/Nash/Westbrook/Parker, Dragic may only be able to overtake Parker.

Golden State and Minnesota look like they'll be good, too. That means, Ricky Rubio and Stephen Curry are added into the mix.

And you can't forget about Kobe/Harden/Gordon as well as Ginobili and Conley who both have a puncher's chance.

Lowry also has a shot if he stays but only because the game is hosted in Houston.

I hope Lowry would be precluded due to Houston's poor record.

We lost Goran Dragic? That's OK, we still have Zoran.

We have been spoiled in the past. Its going to take some time Im sure, but the rebuilding process will be well worth it once they find someone to build around. With their draft selections now they are definitely in the "swing for the fences" mode with picks like Lamb & White. Could be a fun young team. Sorry its thats too optimistic for Clutchfans.

Soooo....we are def not going to match?
What if NYK matches Lin's contract?
Does either matter at this point?

We can't match Dragic is an unrestricted free agent.

Reg. Dragic- He was Unrestricted free agent. There is no matching. Its done. Its 100% up to the player.

NYK/Lin- NYK Will most likely match any reasonable offer the Rockets give Lin since he is a RESTRICTED free agent, and does not have a choice in the team he goes to. He can only control the other offers he gets. I would not bank on Lin coming to Houston by any stretch. Even if Lin loves Houston, its still out of his control, and we all know NY loves Lin for multiple reasons. Just assume now that Lowry is the Rockets guy next season.

Does it matter??- In the long run yes it might. It depends on what you want this team to stabilize on with their roster. If you want to continue to build through youth, and retain flexibility then maybe passing on Lin/Dragic is a blessing in disguise. Those guys can help you win, but will they put you over the top???... probably not.

Lot of posters on here wanted Dragic so bad because they thought the Rockets could flip Lowry then for a superstar. Obviousy you look at draft night trades, and its clear that its just not that easy to trade a PG in this market that is flooded with great/good/awesome PG's on almost every team. I guess its all just a preference on how you want this team built. Do you want to build it around Goran or Lin, or would you like to continue your search for a star through the draft or trade? If your choice is the latter than maybe missing out on Dragic/Lin in the free agency is a good thing.
