Tried to stay in that coveted 14th pick area.

Maloney, Brent Price, Alston, Moochie Norris, A.Brooks, Lowry..... What do these all have in common?

They all recieved big paydays for a previously, productive half-season after the starting PG was injured...And how did those deals pan out???. I think Morey did good not to sign Dragic to that much money.......

None of that is relevent you deal with each situation as it comes up, and Aaron Brooks should not be on your list, he did not sign here and is still under his rookie contract as a restricted FA for the Suns.

Neither should Lowry, he got a near MLE deal after being restricted.

The past is not an indicator of any future - each decision is fluid, Morey's head is clearly full of fluid.

Dragic is from Slovenia. Every city in the US must be like Utopia to him. :)

    Ownership is the problem

I hope everyone is starting to realize that there is a problem with Houston. I have to think its coming from our management/ownership. In my 40 + yrs as a Rockets fan, I have never know not one person to mention Hou as a possible option. No one. We have people saying publicly that they do not want to play here. We have our own people wanting out and our own free agents signing elsewhere. Houston-we have a big problem.

Scottsdale/Tempe area is great. Nobody in Phoenix lives nor hangs out in downtown Phoenix.

Except it's not true. If no one has mentioned Houston as a possible landing spot, then how did we meet with Dragic and Lin, much less agree with Asik? I don't doubt that there may be some issues with management, but no reason to be hyperbolic about it.

At this point, Houston is a non-contender without a single superstar. If you were a FA, would you want to be in a sinking ship?

Until Morey figures out a way to have a solid core to build upon, we will be stuck with 14th pick every year.

The only indication that he would have started over Lowry is if Houston was actually trying seriously to trade Lowry. I'm wondering how serious Morey is in trading Lowry though. All indications are that there have been lots of suitors but Morey wants both arms and a leg in the deal. If Morey thinks that much of Lowry then I can hardly see him garunteeing Dragic the starting spot.

Agreed. Kyle can shut him down. For 3.5 mil less.

So many over reactions. Making bad deals is what you want to avoid at this point. Again, this "off season" is not over until the winter trade deadlines. Just making deals to make deals is stupid business.
