Since you are so well-educated, why don't you give more evidence to prove you point?

I'm pretty sure the Celtics are in the same boat as the Spurs and are looking to keep their core intact and add another veteran piece for contention.

he has trade value and they want to get him in return for some younger players or depth. They might also want to save money.

Alot of great players get traded.

Why did Portland trade Clyde Drexler to the Rockets in 95?

people claimed he was 'old' and washed up.

Do you know what happened in 95?

Tracy McGrady is the soul of our team. He is the best player ever to play in the NBA. We need him for our championship chances. Tracy McGrady was born with amazing passion for the game, and has the talent to take over a game with his MIND set. Tracy McGrady is not mentally weak, hes physically weak. Tracy McGrady is the best player ever to play the game.

the person making the declarative statement is the one with the burden of proof.

you say his signing was a mistake - so you apparently know of someone that the rockets could have signed at the time, who offered something even better than what the rockets got for the $2m they spent on brent.

i just want to know who this person is/was?

I'm not talking about Tmac, I'm talking about Ray Allen.
You asked me if he was great, why would he be traded.

you didn't ask me "Would you trade Tmac for Ray Allen?"

My answer, hell yes. but that's not the point.

You compared a Hall of Fame player, multiple All Star, and Champion to Brent Barry.

You seriously think Brent Barry is even remotely close to Ray Allen? this year or any year ever?

They can save 2m for last season and especially for this season, and can save money for more salary cap. Then they can spend more, maybe full MLE to sign a good backup center.

but some of the people aren't kidding,
they compare Ray Allen to Rafer Alston and Brent Barry.

I knew you were kidding, but its hard to tell now since some here know nothing of the NBA.

Yes, Brent Barry never reached Ray Allen's level. But, they were both great shooters, and now getting old. I mean Ray Allen will decline like what Barry does. Boston is shopping him for reason! Why don't the lakers shop Kobe, and the cavs shop lbj?

You should have more patience to read and understand what people really mean!

Yes, Ray Allen is much better than Brent Barry. But, he also earn much more than Barry does!

    Actually, YES!

Barry is an expiring contract, but he has family tradition to retire here. I doubt the rockets would trade him.

This is the worst reasoning and logic I've ever heard. Yes Ray Allen is getting old and you just compared him to the 2 best players in the L.

Yes he's getting old, but he stays healthy and plays well in the playoffs.

You are now just insulting Ray Allen. Not a single time in history was Brent Barry ever close to Ray Allen in skill.

I'm pretty sure if you were alive in 95, that you'd be angry the Rockets traded for Clyde Drexler. 100% sure of this.
