Uh, so.....what is your point.....I said Amare sucks on D...and...he does.....who cares if Nash was the first one whining about it......we are talking about Amare. But hey, at least he would compliment your boy Tmac...both suck at Defense and only care about themselves.....and their image. DD
typical DD's response with no substance when he cant provide substance. nash is their leader. if he (and the coach) prefers to play an uptempo offense and doesn't want to play D, and he publicly whines about that, how is the team going to react? every NBA player loves offense more than defense. so if your best player wants no part of defense, that's gonna affect the rest of the team. you play how your coach/system wants you to play. right? you should know better than that.
We don't need a PF anyways, Scola is too good to bench. We should be looking at hard working scoring wings like Richard Jefferson or Rip Hamilton.
Hillboy, the key to the deal from the Knicks' perspective would be to unload Jared Jeffries. Jeffries and Eddy Curry are standing in the way of the Knicks having the salary cap room to definitely offer two full max contracts to premier free agents. Last February, they were DESPERATELY trying to find takers for either Jeffries or Curry, even offering up additional assets just so teams would take those contracts off the Knicks' books. This would be a salary cap motivated move by New York, with the added benefit of seeing what T-Mac can do next season in a contract year. If Lebron and D-Wade opt to stay in Cleveland and Miami, respectively, the Knicks would still be able to re-sign a successful T-Mac AND still sign another max contract free agent (like Chris Bosh).
that's what nash said. on ABC earlier this year, he said under d'antoni, we push the ball more. but then he said terry porter emphasized too much defense. how am i supposed to react that when a former MVP under d'antoni say that? terry porter made them play "some D" and steve nash complained???? seriously?
I would advise you to read my post in the link below. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthrea...95&page=1&pp=20 Please note that I later correct myself regarding my math when adding Luis Scola's cap hold. The final cap room figure at the end of my OP should be increased by $2M, but the end result is still the same. If the Rockets keep Yao, Artest, Battier, Scola, Brooks, Landry and Lowry (whether or not they are all under contract at the time), the Rockets will have no more than around the MLE's worth of cap room available next summer, but likely less than the MLE, meaning they will renounce their cap room in favor of the MLE. Please just read the post. Thanks.
Sorry, the link didn't work. Try this one: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=168495&page=1&pp=20
I don't think we need Ron Artest. But in any case, so we will be near $54 million next summer - that's what you are saying right?
lol what You said Amare had 1 good season without Nash, I said so what Zack Randolph averaged 20 pts and 10 rebounds for a season.....implying any player can look good at anytime, however Amare's best season was with 7 SOL offense lead by Steve Nash. Amare is a bonehead, his defense is horrible after how many years in the league.......he has the ability to play better D, but I guess it must mean Low IQ since he can't adjust.
Please....everyone knows Amare was taught to back off and allow his opponent to score rather than risk getting a foul and slowing the tempo. It's common knowledge. You know Dantoni has a history of having average at BEST defensive teams. He's an awful defensive coach. I completely blame him for Amare's defensive development. wait a sec...why are people discussing Amare's defense? When did Scola become a defensive stopper? Scola may have to try harder to have the same effect as Amare's athleticism based lazy effort...but that's the only difference I see.
Because if we are talking about Trade ideas, isn't it okay to say Player A has a weakness and why would we want him or not want him. IMHO PF is not our weakest spot on this team, replacing Scola/Landry with Amare is not a huge improvement over that spot. We need a SG or an Elite PG 1st.
you can read b/t the lines if you watch his damn interviews. Terry Porter has been quietly criticized frequently for being too authoritative with his players this year. The difficulty with that is that the Suns having many veteran players who are not used to that type of treatment. It may seem if the Suns players are being “babies” however, the Suns flourished in more light hearted scenario under D’Antoni. http://suns.gearupforsports.com/blo...ry-porter-fired-and-replaced-by-alvin-gentry/ you know what that authoritative treatment - slow down the tempo, play some defense, and rebound. and do you know who led that "whining," steve nash did. you know why everybody likes to play for d'antoni? run run run, and some more run. defense is mixed in here or there. you know why the suns liked alvin gentry? started to do what d'antoni did again, and yet start giving up 100+ pts again.
unfortunately, zach has never sniffed all-nba status. amare has THREE TIMES. amare averaged 20 and 10 in his SECOND YEAR, and his team WENT TO THE PLAYOFFS, taking the spurs to 5 games. stephon marbury of all people even raved about amare. and stephon didn't even want to play with KG. who has raved about zach? when has zach been mentioned among the best? when has zach sniff star status? terrible comparison.
Terrible Comparison????? That the fact they both play horrible defense? Was my only comparison. I brought up Zach because you brought up the 1 season Amare did well without Nash. I simply said, any player can have a great season, just like Zack. However Amare's best season was during 7 SOL offense lead by Nash. What is wrong with my statement? Is it true that Amare's best season was during the 7 SOL offense lead by Nash? Is it true that Zach averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds? Is it true that both Zach and Amare have horrible defense? Debatable but IMHO they both play the same defense. I never said Zach was the better player, I just mentioned any player is capable of a good season. In other words, so what Amare averaged 20points with Marbury, his best seasons were with the 7 SOL offense lead by Nash. its the truth, its a fact. Call it a Myth if you want too, but its the truth until Nash is gone.
I was talking about Howard. T-Mac would have hit at least 1 of 4 free throws. He is more skilled than howard. Howard was seriously exposed in the finals this year, and it made Yao look like superman instead. It doesnt matter if your able to block off your defender and get the ball IF you cant SCORE. Even in desperate times when we cant get Yao the ball, a 18 ft jumpshot by Yao is a good shot. And I used to be a dwight fan. He needs to call hakeem and pay him to teach him.
have you seen steve nash's defense? if you're going to criticize amare, look at their damn leader. he is just as bad as damon jones. secondly, if amare was so lazy, i guess he just got that midrange game out of nowhere. amare had ZERO jumpshot coming into the L. give the man some credit. if you don't like the guy, fine. but he's a top 5 big man in the L when healthy and arguably a top 2-3 offensive big men in the game.
As far as Trading T mac goes, i think it seems like a bad idea. The guy is still a great shooter and can still put points on the board, injured or not. plus t macs a guy that can work well with yao ming. if you bring in someone else, they might not have the same chemistry as tmac did with yao. we finally got out of the first round this year, and were really close to going to the CF. all we needed was scoring and Tmac will give us that. I Say keep him and let him get back to action.
