I agree, we must keep our options open for DWade and or Joe Johnson! Go hard in getting him. He said he will not prefer NY due to the weather. Pay the luxury tax for him. Imagine DWade, Yao, Scola, Brooks, Battier, and possibly Artest. We'll have Lebron and Kobe crapping in their pants.
Uh, doesn't this depend on whom you get back in trade? Trading a guy who was absent basically all year on a team that went to the 2nd round is not giving up. I personally believe he will be traded very soon. And for those of you wanting to wait, that is not a smart thing to do....you are basically HOPING that he gets healthy....gets something for him while you can.... You get an ENTIRE TEAM together in training camp and get ready to rumble, no more, is he going to play or not...hanging over the head of the team. DD
Man don't worry we won't make fun of your username on here after T-mac gets shipped off. You can change your user name or go join the Charlotte, Chicago, or Phoenix boards. T-mac's being bagged and tagged in a DO NOT RETURN TO SENDER & VERY FRAGILE box as we speak. Someone get Stephen A. Smith on the horn NOW!
Please tell me how McGrady helps the team defend LaMarcus Aldridge and Pryzbilla/Oden...much less Gasol, Odom and Bynum? He doesn't. Tracy McGrady has nothing to do with the front-court height issues... EXCEPT for trading him might actually help you address those issues. Re-signing Ron and Wafer and trading Tracy for either SG or C/PF help, by default means the team is looking to get better. It takes a player who was in no way instrumental to the team's success last year and turns it into a potential asset. Add in the Tracy chemistry risk...AND ignoring that is like putting a blindfold on...he was part of great chemistry teams in the past, but not only are those teams now different, but the fact that there are at least some kind of T-Mac related locker room issues with the current squad is obvious. If Yao is out for the season, regardless of how the rest of the team looks next year, the team is done. It simply can not win the championship without a healthy Yao. This isn't Rockets specific. If Gasol goes down, the Lakers don't win. If Rashard Lewis goes down, the Magic don't make the Finals. When KG went down, the Celtics lose in the 2nd round. This is another issue, though, and there have been multiple threads about Yao's injury history on this BBS recently.
You don't need a credible source to know that he is being shopped around. Common sense should tell you that.
Like I said before, there's no way Morey should trade Tracy and/or Landry away for a top 4-5 PG in the draft cause they're the best trading pieces and it ain't worth the risk of getting a unproven rookie PG from the draft for them. If we trade Tracy and Landry + someone else, we should be getting someone who's been in the league and is a proven player. I say trade Tmac, Landry, Brooks, and Brent (if they want him) to the Suns for Amare and Richardson. If they don't wanna trade with us then there are other teams that the Rockets can trade with like Golden State for instance. We could possibly get Monta, Randolph, or who knows what on there team for Tracy's contract. Lets not forget the write-up that Clutch post a little while back http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1535/top_5_teams_for_rockets_to_plunder_in_trades/ If we are looking for a PG in the draft Jeff Teague is a great choice that could go late in the 1st round and if we could possibly trade with the Suns to get Amare, we could also buy a late pick and maybe get Jeff Teague. Teague is compared to a better shooting Monta Ellis and on Draftexpress, the worst case for him is becoming an Aaron Brooks/ Louis Williams. I hope Morey doesn't go crazy and take a stupid risk, but he usually doesn't so we can only wait and see. Crossing my fingers!
Or what about the Rockets resigning TMac after the other team buys him out? Kind of like the Spurs used to do with Brent Barry?
Um.... ...that would be a lot like pulling the IVs out of your arms after heart transplant surgery, JoeBarelyCares. Remember...we're all trying to get rid of McGrady. Nobody cares what it costs. Nobody really cares what he makes. If McGrady's going to go the route of Steve Francis, we'd have even less reason to sign him then than we do to try to keep him now. Here, JoeBarelyCares....say it with me... Go-T-Mac-Go—Far-away-from-here... Go-T-Mac-Go—Far-away-from-here... Go-T-Mac-Go—Far-away-from-here...
I actually want to see him in a Rockets uniform... flame me all you want, but I still think he can contribute.
He doesn't throw Yao under the bus - he says He and Yao didn't have enough role-players. God, it is so sad. Especially since Tinman twists his words around to say he threw the team under the bus. Tinman should watch this video.
My dream trade would be: T-Mac for Stephen Jackson Corey Maggette Anthony Randolph (6-10 C/PF with athleticism)
