Miami, Chicago and New York have to be the hot spots for Summer leaguers this year.

A consequence of playing hardball with the other rookies we've signed. I predicted this long ago and now it has come to pass...it will take a long time to repair our damaged reputation and get hi-kwality undrafted rookies to join our team.

It has nothing what-so-ever to do with how anyone was treated. It's just as others have said, an undrafted FA is looking for the best opportunity to make a team.

If you were an undrafted free agent do you think that you'd have a better chance of making the roster of a Miami team that only has 3 players under contract or making the roster of the Rockets who are 2 to 4 deep at ever position other than center?

Here's a newsflash for you: the better undrafted free agents won't be going to Orlando, Los Angeles or Denver either.

What about Maarty, Brad, and Lior, you think they will come play some summer ball?

Don't forget Jared Jeffries and Alexander Johnson (easy to do); that makes 16 counting the free agent, or 15 after Johnson is cut.

Agreed. The fact that the Rockets already have 16 players essentially under contract for next year (counting Patrick Patterson and counting the non-guaranteed deals of Mike Harris and Alexander Johnson) is the single biggest factor why the "big name" undrafted guys aren't banging down Houston's door to play for the Rockets in the summer league. In a summer where most teams have very few roster spots set for next season, the Rockets are on the other side of that spectrum.

Still, if I was a point guard who went undrafted, I would be very interested in playing for the Rockets' summer league team. First of all, I have not seen anywhere that Conroy will be back at the helm in summer league. So, there should be an opening for a young PG to get plenty of playing time to show the rest of the league what he can do. And the Rockets themselves may even be willing to carry a third PG as its 15th man or possibly sign him to a contract with the Vipers and keep close tabs on him throughout the season, much like Garrett Temple. Either he gets called up by the Rockets or he gets on another team's radar and ends up getting called up by another team (as Temple did with the Kings and eventually getting a non-guaranteed deal for next year from San Antonio).

I wouldn't have thought of it, but it's pretty obvious now that you mention it.
