Oh, that's a nice stretch. How did anyone keep their jobs? I'd be firing waterboys. Band-Aid Man, Kessler, etc. Nice.

    Where did Jamerson get to?

yeah, i think 87 and 89 may have been the best years.

man, now i can understand why hakeem was always fighting people back then. i'd wanna beat the crap outta some people too if my team kept drafting like that. michael cage was just paying for alec kessler's mistakes.

imagine hakeem with a kobe type player all those years instead of those guys. think he'd have more than 2 rings?

Hey, we eventually ended up with the 1987 pick... The Jet... and a great second round pick from 1989... Chucky!

Those were two damn good drafts for the Rockets.

can you honestly say things since 92 have been that bad? of course we had things that didnt work out like dickerson's career ending injury problem and eddie griffin's mental breakdown, but i think overall we got some good talent. not everyone is gonna work out but we have had some bad breaks.

I yesterday reviewed game 2 of the 1994 finals. They showed a little clip of the crowd in the summit when David Stern announced that the Rockets picked Robert Horry. Wow, the crowd was really mad at front office, because the passed on the next Jordan Harold Miner...:p

Thank god they did! ;) :)

I was there. I had never heard of Horry, but I didn't boo because lots of teams were passing on Baby Jordan.

Dear God! That list is absolutely brutal! Just think how it would look if they HADN'T WON the lottery in 2001! All those who feel that CD is a good solid and respectable GM should take a look at this draft history ...

Correct me if I am wrong. Weren't Yao and Nachbar drafted in 2002 instead of 2001?

I'm not sure that stretch is any worse than '94-'01. The only servicable player picked in that eight year strech was Thomas...

Edit: Dickerson could have been something special, though. Too bad the injury bug bit him so bad.
