I'm pretty sure Cat will tell anybody if they can't release anyone of what they suggest/think. But there are some sorry starters out there as the bottom teams has been really raped. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
Hey Smartguy you should practice what you preach. If I read this correctly, and unless you are so special that your team gets to start 7 players, Danny Fortson is not starting for you either. So I guess Cat should make you submit one of the other 4 starters. BTW I think I would select Cato or Cummings over Brevin Knight anyway. Team: Washington Wizards Draft: All my common and rookie picks. Players: Most likely the two I added last season, Jermaine and Austin. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. My Mockumentary atheistalliance.org
Hey---SHUT UP. Cummings was my starter (and put up 11 and 5 apg) until he was displaced by my recent trade for Hughes. In case you missed it---SHUT UP. Don't EVER call me a cheater. Punk fool. I know the rules you goon. Cat even used you as an example of what the rules are. Are you illiterate? One more thing I forgot to add above about the common draft-- it is at my discretion who can be added to the draft list, which is supposed to be two starters. The question recently has come up several times on "How many games does a player have to start to be eligible for the draft?" The answer is that there is no set number. There's not going to be ways to get around the rules so you can put in two of your lesser guys and not two starters. Now, in some cases, you can put someone in your top 6. A good example would be Nomar's team-- he started Fortson for a large portion of the season but had to bench him due to a trade for Antonio Davis. Because he is starter quality, and was a legitimate starter for a good portion of the season, I am allowing him to enter Fortson in the draft if he chooses. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum12/HTML/000457.html What a idiot. ------------------
Team: Phoenix Suns Picks: All of my common and rookie picks Players to submit: Probably Chris Dudley and Elliot Perry ------------------
The dallas Mavericks currently possess their own rookie pick(yes the last one) or worst one if ya wanna call it that. also i possess my own 2nd round pick in the common (illigitimate b*stard draft) draft which again is the last pick in the common draft, or the worst pick, however you wanna look at it. probably gonna drop lorenzen wright and cedric ceballos. thank you have a nive day. CAT, i still dont really have internet access, so whenever the drafts go off, finish the whole draft odd, than stop the draft at my pick. since my pick is the last overall pick in both the common and rookie draft it wont affect anyone but myself. if i get to a computer i will pick my player, than people can scavange the rest. this is especially important to me on the rookie draft as im pretty sure that there will only be one player left when its my pick in the common draft. thanks peace ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
Cedric Ceballos is clearly against the rule of who is eligible to submit as you have had Marshall all the year and he is the better player. I don not know about Lorenzen Wright but I would guess that is a much closer race between him and Dale Davis so that could be accepted within the rule. About stopping the draft for you. You do not have the last rookie pick. There will be drafted 10 rookies after you (5 teams have 2 compensation picks) so it would be much better for you to submit your draft list to Cat so we do nothave tostop for you. Another solution of course could be you forfeiting that rookie and picking after those 10 extra rookie picks ) There actuallyis another problem of stopping the rookie draft. I believe Cat wants all of us to draft before the real deal so we cant use the real draft to help us. So please just e-mail your preference list to Cat. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage

Heath my sweet, Im glad you concider yourself the "rule master" of the league, some one has to. unfortunately for you, i deffinately have had ceballos and wright starting ever since game 34, and they will continue to start throught to the end of the season. I have had a better record since they have been starting as well. it is not up to you to make this judgement. it is not even up to cat. I am clearly following the rules. you may want me to loose Marshall, but I am not gonna loose him. furthermore, ceballos and Wright are both 2 of the best players being placed into the common draft. its not like im putting players in there that no one heard of. these are players that will make immediate impact for the lesser teams. furthermore ceballos is averaging more than 17 pts/game as a starter for the BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!!!!! heath, clearly have not been paying attention. before you attempt to make a judgement please look into the facts first. now admit that you are wrong... ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
Just curious - which 5 teams have compensation picks? I haven't seen it spelled out, but I'm guessing its the guys that joined mid-season? ------------------ Bingbong was set up, led to an untimely death in the prime of his life for no other reason than pure malice. I would like all GMs to read this and give me thier opinions... Should VOR be allowed to submit Ceballos to the draft and not Marshall? Ceballos, at least in my opinion, is not as good a player as Marshall. He may score a little more, but loses out big in rebounding and defense. VOR had Ceballos starting I believe for over half of the season now, even though it appears that Ceballos isn't the player Marshall is. And he has only lost one game in that span if I know correctly. However, you did say that starting Ceballos was an experiment to see his stats, etc. I do not tolerate starting scrubs and submitting them to the draft. This may be a similar case. However, it is also different in the aspect that Ceballos has started for quite a long while, and the Mavs have just lost one game with him as a starter, so he is definitely starter-quality. I see VOR's point, but at the same time I don't want to set a bad precedent for future incidents. I'd like for everyone to weigh in with some thoughts on this one. Please try and be objective, and don't get on VOR's case if you wanted Marshall in the draft and now might not can get him. ------------------ "Basketball players win basketball games. Its a tough call. Marshall is a better player than Ceballos, yet VOR's team is better w/Ceballos than with Marshall. Ceballos may have been started simply to get stats, but he has now started for the bulk of the season. It is my opinion, that while Marshall is better than Ceballos, Cedric Ceballos is a legitimate starter to be given up for the draft. ------------------ "I always thought it was something that went around my house" - World B. Ok just before I get flamed for being the rule-master - I was just repeating Cat. I'm the keeper of the rules as VOR told me in the chat. I know most of the rules as I try to remember what Cat says, but everyone needs to know it is not my rules. It is Cat's rules. I think the rules have been clear all season long, but I know several has misunderstood them. But I think changing the rules just because a few misunderstood them is making a bigger problem. What we need to dois make sure everyone understands the rules until next common draft. Btw they are changing anyway, as the common draft is tuning down. I'll get back with more in a new post. Stay tuned. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
First, I would like to also ask about those 5 extra picks...who gets them? Second, I do not know abot VOR. My best center is Carlos Rogers, however, for the last few sessions (and for the rest of the season) I will start Bowdler because I wanna see what he can do. Anyway, I told cat when I did this that Rogers was my real starter and I am giving him up. He is clearly better. Point is, this is sticky, but could have been made less so had VOR's intent been made known from the beginning. ------------------ I have just realized that the stakes are myself I have no other ransom money, nothing to break or barter but my life my spirit measured out, in bits, spread over the roulette table, I recoup what I can nothing else to shove under the nose of the maƮtre de jeu nothing to thrust out the window, no white flag this flesh all I have to offer, to make the play with this immediate head, what it comes up with, my move as we slither over this go board, stepping always (we hope) between the lines
It has been some talk about some of the draft players going in this season if they should be eligeble to be dropped. I'll cover a few of them: Fortson: Cat has already said he will be eligeble for the draft, and I agree with this decision although it is borderline. Fortson is a quality man that started (some have calculated it to be 19 games) before he aquired Davis. Fortson was a legitimate starter when he did as there was no one that was much better at the time he started so if he has started enough games he should be able to go. White: I guess White has started more games than anybody on the Nets (starting 5 games for that changing team should be considered a miracle) I do not know how many games White started but at the time he started there was no-one better at his position so that makes him eligeble as a starter. Cat also told CK that he could submit White over LaFrentz when he did that trade so he should be ok. If Cat had said no, CK would not have done that trade and White would have been going anyway. Cummings: I know this guy is not the best there is but you can't compare Mavs to the Bulls saying if Cummings should be let in Ceb should to as he is a better player. Cummings was the starter for a long period when the Bulls had no one better at that position so there should be no question about Cummings eligibility. The fact that he traded in Hughes later and he is clearly not the starter anymore doesn't matter. The rules allow you to trade to get better and submit your "lesser" starter. They do not allow you to start a lesser guy when you have better players at that position to make him a starter. Ceballos - Ceballos has started enough games to qulify as a starter. No problem here. The problem could occur as he had Marshall all the time being the "better" player in most eyes. I have to explain me saying that he could not submit Ceb. I was in the chat when Cat told me that he would not let VOR submit Ceb. Also everyone in the chat said that Marshall was clearly the better player so he should not be allowed as VOR had both players all the time. (He didnt trade in Marshall to offset Ceballos) If that is the case then Ceballos should not be allowed in the draft. But VOR say he is not clearly better. Some say VOR have been doing as good with Ceballos in as he has with Marshall. Personally I do not think that matter. The only thing that should matter is if Ceballos has simular numbers as Marshall. I do not know their numbers but have been told that they bring different numbers. Ceballos being a scoring machine giving 17/4 in his minutes, and Marshall giving 12/8. If this is the case and they have rougly the same numbers I would say they are simular and VOR should be allowed to put up Ceballos in the draft. We all know Marshall is better, or atleast feelhe is better, but they do put up simular numbers, or bring different things to the table, so he should be allowed to put up Ceballos. Ok, if he is allowed to put up both why will he not put up Marshall? This is VOR's choice as a GM. He is allowed to opt for Marshalls youth or his better trade value. So this is his choice as a GM - a choice every GM have within the rules. The fact that I went against Ceballos in my earlier post was that I didnt know their stats. All said Marshall was the clearly better player. And if he was it would have been against the rules to put up Ceballos. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
I forgot one player: Starks: When all this controversy of Cummings, Ceballos and other was discussed BGM felt that if a ****ty player like Cummings could go over Hughes and Ceballos could go over Marshall, then he should be allowed to put in Starks. He said he startedin the beginning of the year for a shorter period of time, but he was his best SG at the time. He later switched an SF (Kukoc) over to play SG and did good so Starks lost his job. I do not know how many games he started and it is Cat's discretion to make hime eligble as a starter for submissions. What Cat has said earlier is that a player have to start over a longer period to be a starter, but there is no set number of games to make him eligeble. For a player to be eligeble he has to start "enough" games AND have no one clearly better to start during that time. [btw having a better player injured doesnt make a player eligeble - but this is not the case here - just wanted to say that] My verdict: I have none as I do not know enough but I trust Cat will make the right decision. To just show an example of someone not eligeble. Charlie Ward: He has been a starter for almost the full season before being traded to the rockets. He will not be eligeble for the rockets to be released because he started for Celtics - A player have to start for the club that is releasing him, and has to be eligeble by the standard rules as a starter for the club that releases him. Charlie Ward will not start for the Rockets as he sits behind Francis and Iverson at guard. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
