The problem with Minny is they dont want expiring contract they want something right now .. the only path I see is a three way trade

    Houston Gets
    Demarcaus Cousins

    Minnesota Gets
    Rudy Fernandez
    #14 Pick
    Maybe Jordon Hill

    Portland Gets
Shane Battier or Trevor Ariza or Bud

Whiteside is at least two years away from making any kind of impact on any team. If we take him, I'll trust Morey's judgement, but I don't see it happening unless we just plan to send him to the d-league.

Between him and Rubio, people on this board are going ga-ga for some complete unknowns. Morey has never gone for raw potential in the first round, and certainly hasn't traded for raw potential. Jermaine Taylor and Sergio Llull are the only developmental/long-term players he has gone for at all, really.

Cousins is going to be the biggest bust in the draft.

    This is an obvious smokescreen.

and this dude's only a Freshman? Homeboy was absolutely dominating the paint. I hate to see what he'll be able to do by age 22.

Yao's production and future are uncertain. You have to be thinking you need a Center who can give you 20+ minutes a night next year and possibly be your starting Center after 2012. Hell, you always need to bank some leverage ahead of your next big negotiation. This draft has several credible big men in it. We need one of them but if Cousins is the best then let's go get him.

What is the salary match for #4, I assume the slot for #14 counts against that?

For some reason, Cousins reminds me of Rashard Lewis when he was younger. Both are kind of boyish looking.

Why would Morey smokescreen in this case?
    I can't think of a benefit.

    Cousins:
    -Lazy
    -Fat
    -Out of shape
    -Me-first attitude

Sound like someone we just traded away this season... Why in the world would anyone want this fat idiot

It's worth noting the Wolves also have the #16 and #23 picks in the draft, as well as the 45th pick (what used to be our 2nd rounder).

Despite how young their team is, I don't think they'd want to deal with 3 first rounders/4 draft picks unless they get a player they know isn't coming over.

I'd imagine future picks (like the rights we have to the Knicks' picks) would be pretty attractive to them.

Who knows, but if he drafts Cousins, I'm officially off the Morey bandwagon. The kid does not fit into Morey's drafting profile. He's lazy, fat, out of shape, with a me-first attitude.

    rebounding
    ability to score
More likely to help Rockets win games than what we send out.
did very well in agility drills despite needing to get into NBA shape.
Gets to the FT line with ease.

We can't do it because we have 0 assurance that Chris Bosh will be a Rocket. We're not even allowed to talk to him until a few days after the draft. Picture this:

Toronto says, "OK, you want Bosh.. we would like you to move up and select Avery Bradley."

The Rockets work the phones, end up trading Budinger or others just to move up to select the guy that Toronto likes.

Fast forward to free agency. "Morey: Hey Chris! We're all set to trade Bradley in a SnT deal for you!"

"Bosh: ... Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather sign with Chicago"

Now Houston is stuck with the "Raptors" guy, Avery Bradley.

    ----

That's why you won't see us making any moves with Toronto in mind on draft night.

So.. Who says he's lazy? Who says he has a me-first attitude?

He might be out of shape, but who is to say he wont be inshape by time training camp starts?

Im tired of hearing this 'Morey drafting style'.. Morey takes best player he thinks is available, and not because a player fits his 'drafting style'.

And if Cousins turn into a Duncan-lite, you'll be back on his bandwagon.

If DM trades Cousins in a package for Bosh, it will be the first terrible trade that he has done. Absolutely terrible! If we get Cousins, we would no longer need Bosh. They will more than likely be using the MLE to sign a vet backup or we will be getting a big in the trade also. Anyway, i feel that Cousins will be a force off the bench early in the season, probably 15-20 games in.

Depending on what the Rockets give up, I could see the Rockets asking for the the 23rd and 45th.

    Yes please....

I'm not sure about how much I'd be willing to give up though.
