Or Kahn's ploy to try and up the bidding war. Possibly add bidders.

....because he was our big splash before an unsuccessful season(pre-Martin trade of course). He was also asked to do some things because of player injuries that he really wasn't equipped to do(be a creator of the dribble) and he looked terrible doing it. It wasn't his fault, but in general people aren't so forgiving.

....just watch him. ESPN shows his Euroleague games online(season's over now though). He's a legit PG in the vein of Jason Kidd - great floor vision, smart player, knows how to run a team. A "true" PG is a rare commodity like a "true" center. Ultimately, Rubio makes plays for his teammates and that is something this team could use since we have so many players who offensively are better when they are "set up". Yao needs someone who can feed him the ball in the low post; Ariza needs someone who can find him on cuts to the basket and when he is wide open in the corner, Martin needs someone who can find him coming off screens. I love AB's game, but his passing skills aren't his strength and we need the help of all 5 guys if we are going to be a legit team.

I think Marcus Cousins is a failure....i watched him on Youtube. Nothing stand out to me...nothing special. I don't like that fact that he's kind of slow in everything...shooting form is slow and probably get block easily...slow speed also it seems.

    Anyway i am not impressed.

You may feel that he is not a good fit with our team.. but he's still the best player in that deal right now. And I truly believe that three years from now, Cousins will be the best player in that proposed deal. It would be an absolute steal for the Rockets if we got anything remotely similar to that.

I'm not sure where this Jefferson doesn't fit is coming from -- what about his game don't you like? He's a back to the basket player who can hit the mid range jumper, plays good defense, and is big enough to slide to the center spot if need be. I'd love Al Jeff on this team..

That would be funny to give up K Martin now. :)

Well, since you watched a handful of clips on youtube, rather than actual games like me.. I'll defer to your opinion!

The kid can ball and he'll have much more room to operate out of the block in the pros instead of the scrum type of game in college.

I like Cousins. Not as much as I like going after younger, more athletic players in general. It's a good risk to take IMO, if it doesn't work out there is usually a team look for these types. Here is video showing the type of player he is:

Assuming Yao returns to be a capable 25 mpg starter at minimum, we would have the slowest defensive frontcourt in the league and two primary low post players who aren't at their best when pulled away from the basket. Without Yao, I'd take Jefferson in a heartbeat. But as long as we're committing big money to Yao, I don't think we can afford Jefferson. And I certainly don't want to give up Martin for someone who may or may not fit with the team, depending on what Yao does.

Rockets should offer as much as possible without giving up #14. It's just having Cousins at center and Whiteside at the 4 would make this a blockbuster draft.

I'm thinking the Rockets would give up Hill, Budinger, and 14th. If you think Cousins is a superstar in the waiting, that steep price may be a fair deal. I'm pretty sure he'll be a beast on the boards and be able to get to the FT line. Defense worries me some. I'd love to see the Lakers "big frontline" go against Yao, Cousins, and Scola. That Kobe guy would be the only one that scared me on the Lakers.

    Yao Hayes
    Cousins Scola Jeffries
    Ariza Battier
    Martin Taylor
    Brooks Lowry

That would seem to be a pretty good team....could use a wing that could provide both defense and offense.

Why can't we trade up for Toronto's interest in mind? Just curious. It happens all the time in the NBA: a team picks a player to trade to another team. Even if Toronto changes their mind, we'll have a pretty decent player in Cousins. But I think Bosh is more helpful for Yao's championship window than Cousins.

moes, get used to seeing Kevin in a Rockets uni.

He is a great basketball player. Better than Manu Ginobili.

Giving up Cousins and all that it would take to aquire the #4 pick would be way too much in a sign and trade for a free agent that wants to come to your team.

Cousins has the ability to get around any center in the league, he needs to man up a bit, thats all
