Yeah, I'm thinking its Battier too. I don't think Jeffries can be traded until July 1st.

Maybe they buy him out? :p And yeah, depends on what you read, hear, etc. Some say Top 10, others Top 6. Who knows?!

Understandable. Sac seems like a logical trading partner, then again they dont. NOt sure what we could offer that they'd like, need, and/or want.

Latest on Fox Sports says that it would be Aldrich at 14, if we stay there. Yuk. No more big stiffs please. DM, you GOTS to make a move!

A perhaps-related question regarding the 'switch-picks' thing with NYK: does that deal then prohibit either team from trading their first-round pick next year to anyone else? I would assume so, but I do not recall seeing that specified.

What I mean is, it seems pretty clear that NY could NOT trade away their pick (ie, that 'right to switch' deal essentially makes the pick already traded.

However, since it is at Houston's option (if, God forbid, we wind up with a worse record than NY), then we obviously would not swap first-round picks with them. But does it specify 'swap first-round picks' in that draft, or does it just say 'swap *picks*?

I know I am being extremely evil here, but what if the language were constructed in such a way as to say we have the right to swap picks in the draft for NYK's 1st round pick, and somehow we wound up ourselves with only our 2nd-rounder? In other words, it would be fun if it was a big oops for them where they couldn't trade their pick, but we could trade ours.. Wouldn't it be so deliciously evil to still be able to swap picks with NY - make them take our 2nd-rounder for their first?

I ask this only to be gleefully evil in my imagination leading up to tomorrow night, as well as, well, it seems like the sort of incredibly devious thing that DM would love to pull off.

And of course it would allow us to use our own #1 next year as a trade asset for a trade this year. Heck I don't even know if we can do that again any time soon... ehhh just dreaming, I am sure. Hehehehe

    No Cole Aldrich please!!

If we have the 14th pick, I want Whiteside or trade it for a late first round and a early second round pick.

It is a swap of first round draft picks. NY is not prohibited from trading the pick. Whoever they trade it to would get the lower pick between us and NY, unless it is the #1.

If it's our pick at 14 and Aldrich is there, I hope for a trade down, pick up another 1st and hope for Whiteside with one of them.

NY still gets a 2011 pick, just not sure which one. That allowed them to trade the 2012 to us.

We only have 1 pick for 2011 (not sure which one) and 2 2012 picks. We have picks that we can trade in 2011 and 2012 and even 2013 if we trade NYK's 2012.

yeah, i really hope that morey won't settle for drafting aldrich at the 14 spot. i don't even think he'd be the best available talent at that spot considering some players are still moving up and down the draft board. if anything, i still think morey is gonna do something that no one has even considered up til now.

If we can't move up, we'll move down. After the top 5-6 players, there is a steep drop-off in talent and proportional increase in gamble.

Portland is supposedly talking with NY to trading Fernandez. Would #14 for Fernandez + #22 be good value for us if we end up trading one of our wings?

Roster has no baring on what they will do, They will ignore that.
    History shows they go BPA

If wing is the best available, they'll take that guy.

Last pick they took with their pick is Aaron Brooks

Desperately trying to move up. Top 5 looks set. Trying to get into 5-12 range. Dont feel as good about it as last year.

Going back to 14, his guess is its one of those wings.

Make decision on long range potential, not necessarily ready now. If he can hit, can hit big.

This is the year to take that risk since they have more picks in upcoming years.

    His guess is Paul George.

Those 4-5 wings are changing by the day.

Should be interesting night. Would be a fun night if they could move up this year. Guy they take could be interesting to watch as this is the highest they've drafted in awhile.

Anyone who thinks cousins will work under sloan doesnt watch basketball. He is the last player that can play in Utah. Sloan is a heavy hand, very demanding coach who basically kept williams on the bench most of his rookie year and shipped off mo williams because he resisted. Cousins will buckle under his watch. I'm not sure cousins isnt anthing more than a piece anyway. Moving up to 4 or so, u want a franchise savior.

Hold up, are u guys serious? I like cousins, and I'd be willing to give up bud, maybe even Ariza to get him, but the Kmart and AB posts are freakin ridiculous. All of a sudden ppl are forgetting what brooks and Martin did. All the 29 point games and drawn fouls and playmaking. We just traded for a talented much needed wing and now you just wanna give him away for some unproven, yes skilled, but unproven rookie. Even the MIP and clutch shots, most threes in the league mean nothing. The guy that in one poll, moist of you said u wouldn't trade brooks for Lebron James. And now u wanna give him up for a draft pick. WOW. What happened to the "best backcourt in the league" as some of u called it. Absolutely obsurd. Like i said cousins is skilled, but come on. Brooks and Martin? Why do u wanna give up on the little hope we have of making noise in the playoffs next year? I understand Bud and Trev, but we're talking bout our core, star players here. Please, have some sense. Don't get excited and anxious to make a move just for the fun of making a move.

relax. the front office would never make a move where the send out our starting backcourt for a rookie that is not named John Wall this year. the only scenario where both get shipped would be if rubio also came back our way. i highly doubt khan would do that. so tranquillo. i think that our best bet to move up would be with sac at 5 and give up brooks in the process.

Too many bigs, not enough minutes.

Thompson, Landry, Dalembert, and Brockman all deserve playing time.
