If were going to make 1 trip every 5 years to the lottery, might as well not take a role player like Aldrich... Players like Aldrich can be found in the 2nd round.
The only game I saw him play he was abused by an unkown dude, on BOTH ends..

I've been a three-year advocate of making Yao a super-sub. We need to think about his pay based on wins-earned not minutes-played...

I can't help but feel that if we trade for Cousins, it is with Toronto in mind. Cousins would seem to be a better fit there since they don't have a big center. It would not surprise me if there is a contingency deal in place that, if we get Cousins, Toronto is willing to S&T Bosh for him and junk if he wants to come here, or...., if Bosh doesn't want to come here, Morey probably has another deal that he can take if he wants to, for Cousins.

If, on the other hand, we are drafting Cousins to keep him, that tells me a lot about Yao's condition. Not good.

    Wow. Reading comprehension buddy.

Just because he's nimble doesn't mean that will translate into good athleticism. Yes, its still an aspect of atheletic ability but in the NBA its more about foot quickness, explosiveness, and body control, neither of which Cousins possesses even to an average NBA standard.
Plus, read some of the NEGATIVES. Aka "not a great athlete, not ever explosive, below average lateral quickness, etc"

With the 14th pick, if the Rockets can get a decent backup for Yao, or someone who can share minutes with him, I'll give them a solid B+. It is, after all, only the 14th pick. If Morey can commit another act of piracy, that B+ becomes an A+.

I would be worried about this If he didn't have overwhelming skill to back it up. He will be able to score efficiently against any other big in the league, that is all that needs to be said. How he does is of no concern to me, athleticism be damned. Defensively, it seems that Shane Battier has gotten by on limited quickness, I would expect Cousins to do the same. Being a savvy defensive player similar to Rasheed is what Demarcus needs to be, while being a bit better on the defensive glass...

To me, skill is the overwhelming factor in any basketball player. Physicality can be manipulated, especially for a 6-11/270, impressionable, Center...

Are we so sure it's Cousins? Perhaps Morey would shock everyone by drafting Derrick Favors.

It doesn't matter weather or not they want him, if morey wants them to take him, they will.

vp of rockets basketball as per 610

cousins: looking like more than a complimentary player every day
    cole: blue collar workhorse
whiteside: upside, huge wingspan, natural shotblocking ability

If the Rockets could somehow land both Aldrich and Whiteside, I'd be happy wit that. Neither guy would cost as much as a top four pick, and you have to think one of them will develop into a decent backup for Yao.

cousins wont get past Kahn at #4.

is cousins worth losing budinger+hill+14(whiteside)+knick pick?

    no way in hell

even if yao is done, this deal isnt worth it. i say pick whiteside at 14 and call it a day

I agree and I've said that already too, but the key factor here is his attitude and demeanor. Shane was dead set on using his talents to the fullest while with Cousins you have to wait and wish that he clicks and matures before he can fully realize his potential

Yup. For a guy like Cousins, a disciplined enviroment such as Houston would be WAYYY better for his personal development compared to somewhere like Minnesota...

Moses played with that constant chip all the time. Cousins nor do many players play with that same fire moses played with.

I think the organization would be good for Cousins but to me he looks like a poor man's Derrick Coleman. The attitude and lack of work ethic are troublesome.
