Is there really a sure sure thing in the NBA?
who would think that the 13th pick of the 96 draft was to become the Black Mamba and team up with one of the best big man of the decade and the winningest coach?
and there goes someone who compares a rookie's nr. to his rookie nr.
Cobra? huh? a sure sure thing to happen.

Wesley Johnson is moving up to 3, New Jersey, on our next mock coming shortly. Told New Jersey will take him and go for a PF in free agency.

Wes was who the Twolves wanted. So it make sense they are trying to trade the pick.

Go for it! I'll enjoy watching it. Besides, you have to stay in training.

(I might even lend you a hammer!)

Clutch only guessing(so dont hold him to it! :p ) but he is wondering about Kevin Martin and Trevor Ariza. (As in I assume they may be the trade piece(s) you may have to give up)

    Nah, this one's better:

    Rubio + #4 ...FOR... Morey's used bathwater.

Exactly! Most of these kids seem like sure things but the bottom line is that some just can't cut it in the NBA.

All of this talk about giving up AB, C-Bud, Hill, etc is making me very uneasy. I think we all agree that this is what Minny or some other high-drafting team would want in return for their pick. They want a king's ramson, not a Battier (too old).

Perhaps the best decision is to stay put and draft a real project like Whiteside (a real 7-footer) who may become a really special player and who is worthy of the 14th pick. The backup C should then be filled by trying to acquire someone like the Laker's DJ Mbenga.

My approach would keep the team intact (we are not that far off from being a contender, guys, especially if Yao is healthy), plus adding some insurance for the future. In addition, the following year(s) we still would have NY's picks and our own.

You know I'd welcome that. At the very least it will guarantee entertainment at its best.

Actually they'd love to somehow nab Turner but we know he's not falling all the way to 4, they'd have to move up.

I still think NJ is taking Favors to pair with Lopez and Devin Harris, even if they try to lure a FA power forward. I'd say the best they could do would be Carlos Boozer, would put a smile on my face to see that guy out of the West.

If we make a deal it would have to be with them (T'Wolves). Absolutely.

Cousins alone, I wouldn't give up too much for him. But hell, if Ricky Rubio is involved, I will give Minn whatever they want!

Clutch said it was expensive and if the Rockets are hesitating on the trade then it means two things, 1) not many fans are going to like the pieces we are going to have to give up and 2) The Rockets view Cousins as a better prospect than Favors and Wesley Johnson otherwise they wouldn't wait to see who will be available at #4. As a fan who closely follows both the Rockets and Wolves organizations, here are a few scenarios that I could see being discussed and yes the price is definitely going to be steep.

    Scenario one:

Rockets key trading piece: Jordan Hill

What could be added: The Wolves have been in the market for young scoring wing for a while now, so I can see a strong push by Kahn to get Chase Budinger involved in the deal. Despite being a mid-second round pick last year, Chase has cracked the Rockets' rotation and according to Morey himself he is better than he ever thought he would be. Chase has plenty of room to improve but his athletic ability and potential will entice the Wolves. Ariza is also another possibility but he's a bit redundant to Brewer and the Wolves might like Bud a bit more. Next the Rockets would include at least one pick but I still don't think it would be enough to convince Minny to do the deal. I think it will be any combination of two picks between the Rockets' 14th pick, 2011 Knicks first and 2012 Knicks first.

Wolves key trading piece: 4th pick

What could be added: Not much, I could see either Ellington or Brewer being added along with the 16th or 23rd pick but other that is about it.

    Scenario two

Rockets' key trading piece: Kevin Martin

What could be added: I don't see the Rockets willing to add much to Kevin Martin but Minny could push for the 14th or just one of the Knicks picks.

    Wolves key trading piece:4th pick

What could be added: I think its pretty much the same as the first scenario, Houston might want a wing to help ease the loss of Martin. 16th or the 23rd are also up for grabs. I think Minnesota would be interested in this scenario considering that they have been gunning for a Rudy Gay signing for months, but if they could get Martin then it could be just as good.

    Scenario three

Rockets' key trading piece: Aaron Brooks

What could be added: the 14th would most definitely be involved in the deal along with Ariza or Chase Budinger. Although Aaron is a solid young point guard, I don't see the Wolves being as interested in as they would with Kevin Martin due to Flynn, Sessions and Rubio. Not sure how Brooks would work in the triangle but I think the Wolves might be interested in this scenario if they like the other pieces involved in the deal like I posted above. They could flip Brooks for another pick (Pacers?) or player in a package deal.

    Wolves' key trading piece: 4th

What could be added: Losing Brooks would hurt the Rockets a whole lot so I can see Houston pushing for one of Flynn and Sessions, Sessions obviously being easier to obtain. Depending on what Houston adds, they could add one of their other firsts.

Anyways this was just me being bored and blabbering whatever came to my mind, you don't have to take it seriously.

Saw this at hoopsworld...anyone know what Bill ingram is talkin about? He said we are getting a center from montegro

    Josh in Houston, TX:
Hey Bill, love the chats. Thanks for them. If the Rockets strike out on Bosh and Amar'e, who or what is plan C? Thanks again
    Bill Ingram:

It sounds like the kid from Montenegra is in the works, but I don't know if he's an impact player or not. Houston's not looking at Al Jefferson or LeBron . . .Boozer is a logical assumption, as is David Lee, though the Rockets are squarely focused on the two you mentioned.
