Minny need starter wings and aren't they also rumored to be after veterans?

    Battier + 14th pick for the 4th?

T-Wolves can absorb Battier's salary which would benefit the Rockets.

I would do the Favors with Whiteside, only i don't feel like Whiteside is center material and Favors is more PF than center. Cousins is a true center.
As far as those red flags go, i trust the Rockets organization all the way from the owner on down to the coaching. They are a top notch organization. I fully trust that they can turn this misguided, misunderstood boy into a 20-10 a game man.

I coule see Minny trading down to 7. By doing that they might even still land there guy Johnson or another SF in Aminu:
    4. Detroit: Cousins
    5. Kings: Monroe
    6. GS: Either Aminu or Wes

then that leaves can with one of the above + an asset from Detroit (a starting SF they have been coveting in Prince).
Certainly makes more sense than any Rocket deal.

if Whiteside ain't center 'material' in the NBA today then few are... same with Favors. He has more than enough to play the 5 today.

Why would minny do that when they have 3 1st rd picks?

Whiteside is somewhat thin for a center. Not saying that he won't someday succeed in doing so, just not anytime soon. Favors could play the center, but just like Whiteside his talents would be better suited at PF.

I would give them the 14th pick, a NY pick, and either Hill OR Bud, for the 4th pick. I would also add both NY picks, Aaron Brooks with Hill and Bud, if they threw in Rubio.

thats pretty much 5 1st round picks and bud for 2 players, one that cant even come to the nba until next season. seems so steep...

    Rumor is that...

Minnesota offering Jonny Flynn and two first-round picks (16 and 23) to Indiana for a package that includes the 10th pick, sources tell Y!

This is very important, and is why we would not pay more to move to #3. OTOH, if we end up able to choose between Favors and Cousins, we should take Favors; he'd be the BPA.

Just like what I've posted previously, this is the best deal for us:

    AB+Hill+14th for Rubio+4th+Gomes

This is not true. The truth is Indiana offered a package (including their pick) to Minnesota for 4th pick, Minny refuesed it instantly.

If you trade away Kevin Martin in a deal for the #4 pick to select DeMarcus Cousins, then you get better at the post but worse at the 2. We would create a problem by solving another one. It wouldn't make sense and I doubt Morey would do that. However, Kurt Rambis is their new coach and he did coach Ariza in L.A. I wouldn't be surprised if Trevor Ariza is included in this deal. We could trade Ariza and not lose as much since Battier would still be here. Whereas if we trade Martin, we have no legit starter to plug in his spot.

I'm guessing that if we do make the trade to move up, it will involved our #14 pick, Trevor Ariza and one or more of the Knicks picks. If that's the case, I would do that deal all day long.

Plus, the only negative surrounding Cousins is that he is immature. He is only 19 years old! Most 19 year olds are immature. Its not like he is beating women or get arrested all the time.

that wouldnt happen though. if you offered that package for rubio alone, minny might maybe say yes...

to get the #4 as well, you'd probably have to throw in next years NYK pick and something else (CBud or someone like that).

That Favors is "in shape" seems to be a non issue. See Kevin Durant vs Greg Oden.

Any potential trade with Minnessota to aquire the #4 pick will be painful. Its not what you want to give them since the rockets are trying to move up, its what they will take and how much the rockets are willing to give in a deal. Do you trade Kevin Martin who is in his prime for a potential all-star center who'm you can build your entire franchise around over the next 5-10 years. Which position is harder to fill between the shooting guard and a legit center?

I agree with your point but Cousins is far from being legit. At this point, he is just a prospect. Martin is a legit NBA player. He is proven and Cousins is not. But your right, it will be painful.
