Trading Martin will leave us a big hole in SG position. Good sg is rare these days and we will be forced to watch a lots of Ariza bricking.

I highly doubt that Martin will be involved in any package.

    Trever doesn't suck.

he was asked to do too much for our team and when yao is back and with Martin and Brooks, he will be more effective.

I don't understand the hate for Trever

A proven player sucks who proved he can start on a NBA team...and a player doesn't suck when he hasn't played a minute in a NBA uniform...neat.

Lets not forget about Darko and Bargnani so quickly....

After the low price Martin was grabbed for, giving him up without getting back a superstar, let alone any proven player doesn't seem right.

And who will take seriously a Rocket team that starts Trevor at SG?

I wonder if Morey is as high on Favors as he is on Cousins.

#14 + C.Bud + J.Hill for #4 + rights for Rubio is the only deal I would do because for us, we could be landing two "superstars" or a potential big time bust, while Minnesota get two. possibly three really good potential players that are proven in the NBA. I think some of us are giving up way too much for DeMarcus but I can sorta see why though. By the way, Rubio isn't coming overseas until the 2011-12 season at the earliest so we still got some time to find a way to deal with Minnesota. Both players (Cousins and Rubio) are good, but being unproven at a NBA levels makes me want to think twice before shipping away a pick and two pretty good players. Somehow if we pull off some kind of deal for a higher pick, I'm guessing Bosh won't be in a Houston uniform next year err.. I think?

I'd be very happy with Favors over Cousins.

just like what Chad Ford said on his Player's Mock Draft on the 2nd pick.

"Evan Turner's upside is Brandon Roy. Favors is Dwight Howard. Who would you choose?"

Well Cousin's upside is Al Jefferson. Favors-- Superman

I choose Superman. He's 18 and already showed in his workouts that he has a little something Howard doesn't have and that's a bit of a mid-range game.

    Please let it happen.

and BTW Cousin does have the higher bust potential than Favors. add that with the lesser upside.

just wanted to throw that in. :/

If Cousins plays to his potential( which he would coming to the Rockets), Favors will be a distant memory. He is currently dominating workouts and has just as much upside as any other draftee this year.

y'all are crazy if you think Minny will take back martin.....they are REBUILDING....you cant just assume they'll take any good SG because they need one. Martin is a lot older than who theyll want as their core. All he'll do is get meaningless stats on their team. He'll be a huge waste of cap space and by the time their core come around he'll be crap. On the other hand, he fits perfectly within houston's core and is exactly what we needed. Houston needs him too much and Minny doesnt need him. Not to mention he worked out great next to brooks and the team will want to know how he works with Yao as well...

there's no guarantee that he would be playing to his potential if he came to the Rockets. he's not very quick nor does he get much lift. he just about average in the athleticism department. If Cousins 'skill set' doesn't work out in the NBA he'll be just another overpaid big body down the road.

But Favors on the other hand will always have his top-notch athleticism to fall back on and he'll be quite effective with that along when he learns to utilize it like a D-Howard.

Just because he has the highest potential doesn't mean he's the better player. Favors doesn't have the off-court red flags that Cousins has. At the very least he won't be overweight or battling weight problems his entire career.

I guess in terms of pure potential as well as instant impact Cousins might have the edge...but the bust factor is extremely high. A pretty good comparison is choosing between Eddy Curry and Chandler in the draft. Yeah coming in Curry had the higher potential, but how did that turn out?

If NJ ends up choosing Cousins 2nd over Favors they would be making a horrible mistake. Cousins is like that extremely risky junk bond offering 35% interest rate. You'd really take that over the blue-chip bond offering 15%?

Every draftee is a risk at this point. If a chance is going to be taken, then take it with the one you want. Cousins is the most talented big of the two according to experts. Thats not saying that i wouldn't mind getting Favors, i would just be a little upset. You probably don't know yet, but i am also hoping to keep the 14th pick to get Whiteside. This is another reason why i would want Cousins over Favors so that Whiteside could play the 4 next to Cousins.

Cousins and Whiteside on the same team? I could live with that, having three big men on the roster.

naaah I still rather have Favors with Whiteside. Favors can play this and Whiteside can play this yah-da-yah-da. But like the poster above you said, Cousin has been said by many that he does have some off the court red flags. There's a reason why Favors is 2nd or 3rd on most mock drafts and why Cousin is one of the players behind him.

Every draftee is a risk but they have different levels of risk. Favors has at the very least 50% less risk of being a bust on the fact that he is in shape and he doesn't have off court issues. Favors is also considerably younger than Cousins and could also have a very high ceiling.

I don't want Whiteside next to Cousins because we already have Jordan Hill at the 4. I'd rather have favors and hill, think of howard and chris bosh on the same team.
