I am thinking they may want Ariza because he is more of an established player than C-bud. I dont think many people outside of Houston are as hyped on Chase as we are, so hopefully they want Ariza more so than Bud.

Detroit offers nothing substantial other than a much higher draft position at 7, however... there are rumblings that the Wolves like Paul George and think they can get him at 14.

Very interesting. I wonder if this is Budinger + #14 for #4?

This would make sense considering their need of a wing.

Makes you wonder if this could be Daryl Morey's "All In" move...

    Rockets get: #4 Pick (Cousins)
    Ricky Rubio
    (Someone Else)

    Timberwolves get: 14th Pick
    Trevor Ariza
    Shane Battier
    2012 Knicks Pick

I would be definately for this trade. Rubio, Cousins, Kevin Martin, Potentially Chris Bosh, Yao, Scola, Aaron Brooks, Hill....now that is a team with talent and potential to win titles

#7 + maybe prince or gordon or jebrenko

on a sidenote, K Prichard just traded for GSW #34 for their #44 + cash.

This would make sense.. if they were choosing from Wesley Johnson or Paul George/Budinger(or Ariza)/future 1st .. seems like the latter option would be more attractive.

However, that opens us up to getting screwed by another team in a Brandon Roy scenario. "Oh, Houston is going to take Paul George and trade you him for Cousins? Well why don't I just take him right in front of Houston and trade him to you instead!"

The 7th pick is a big advantage. The Timberwolves would only have to move back 3 picks with Detroit instead of 10 with a rockets trade.

    I'd let them have:

Martin, Bud, Hill #14 and the Knicks picks for

    #4, Rubio and Jefferson

    no problem.

...if you were a GM, would you really hold up a trade to the #4 pick just for Budinger?. I like C-bud as much as the next guy, but I bet Morey could snag someone of his talent fairly easily. Chase's skill set is something that could be fairly easily acquired through late draft picks, NBDL, or FA. Players of elite talent like Cousins on the other hand...well those types of players aren't available too often(see the Summer of Lebron). I said it before - I would LOVE for Houston to grab Cousins but the fact that it's in the press leads me to believe it won't happen because it always seems Houston's moves are the unexpected ones.

If not a smokescreen, I guess we're giving up on winning a championship next year. And Yao's prospects of returning to form are slim as well...

    Maybe we get Rubio too...

    2 years from now...

    Cousins
    Hill?
    Ariza
    Martin
    Rubio

I don't think the T-wolves fan sites have the bandwidth to handle DD if Budinger was included. I kid, I kid.
