Barkley was 6'4¾ with a vertical leap of 37½ inches, unheard of for a man who once played at 310 pounds.

Avg NBA player his size has a standing reach of 8'7" so his max jumping reach would be around 11'8' or so...

refer to my previous post for Cousin's max jump reach.

Rockets should go ahead and buy #44 pick from GSW for cash. If they can move from #34 to #44, probably can move out altogehter!

I don't think 5-6 inch increase in verticle is a good idea for a 280-300 lb 7fters. 7 fters's feet just can't handle the incredible stress on their feet. Look at Yao Ming/Eddy Curry/Bynum/Oden. Yao and Oden are lean and still can't take the impact. Shaq has unusually large feet(size 23) compared to other guys(Yao 18, Oden 18), so the stress is spread over a larger surface.

    Man, really?

    Why?

Aaron Brooks could be a star...20ppg, ...Cbud could be a star, Hill could be a star....

Cousins could be a star......the difference is that Cousins could also be a bust......whereas we know the other three are not.

I would like Cousins but for the right price.....not Cbud, CERTAINLY NOT AB, but I would include Hill as they play the same position.....

I'm not convinced that this rumor is legit. Could be posturing by Morey and co.

It doesn't matter how athletic the guy is, if he is 280-300 lbs. It's just an annual injury waiting to happen. See Yao, Oden, Curry, Bynum. All these guys have a career average of under 60 games a season, because their feet or legs can't handle the weight.

Also, I mostly trust Morey, but he also picked up Dorsey, and touted him pretty highly...so......

Let's hope Cousins is not Dorsey but rather more like Chase and AB.

What would you give up for the fourth pick?

What would you give up for the rights to Little Ricky?

I wasn't really defending Cousins there. It just seemed like an opportunity to post a kickass Barkley mix.

I would borderline gut the team if Morey had a chance at both Cousins and little Ricky.

So you don't FULLY trust Morey but rather only MOSTLY trust Morey because he bombed on Dorsey, a player he traded OUT of the 1st Round to get (thereby leaving his contract in more favorable conditions)?

Hope for Cousins to be like Chase or AB? If that's all you hope for to get from a #4 pick and a player that's been rated by the stat geeks as a Top 3 talent, then you're really setting your ceiling pretty low. I'm expecting Amare and nothing less.

Ricky changes everything for me regarding the deal, I think he is going to be a very special player.....but it would mean we are probably going to overhaul this year.

I am just going to wait and see...too much unsubstantiated speculation.

Stat geeks huh? What did they say about Eddie Griffin? Or why did Amare go number 10, what about Prince in the 20s....AB in the 20s......draft guys are about as relevent as you and I in discussing this......

Again, will just wait and see, but I do not completely trust Morey...he has done a great job but making that next leap and acquiring a star player without sacrificing the main core of the team is an entirely different level.

He has taken nothing but low risk moves so far......this would be an entirely new level and the kind that blow up more often than work out.

The funny thing is you would trade Budinger for Rubio in a heartbeat, because he will be a "very special player". Yet no way for Cousins, because he is "unproven".

There's a big difference. Budinger is white and Cousins is black. Rubio is white, so a white guy for white guy trade works. Cousins can't join the WBPS club(White Boy Power Squad, Sura, Novak, Barry brothers, etc)

I like Kevin Martin. He's not a Top 5 SG but he has one asset that matters most in the 4th quarter--the ability to get to the line. Opposing teams getting into the penalty early helps the Rockets if/when their offense stagnates.

If they're going to move Martin and "stuff" to Minny, we better get Al Jefferson because outside of Jefferson, Love, and Flynn (do we REALLY need another combo guard?), they have nothing of value.
