If we get the 4th pick, I think I'll be more inclined to draft Wesley Johnson..

Since when is Brooks a PG? They might as well just start Sessions.

Um, he backed away on a rotation switch. When he was matched up alone 1 on 1, he more than held his own and deflected the shot, showing pretty damn good quickness for a big.

Yes, the NBA has quicker players. No, Cousins isn't Kevin Garnett in his prime. But his quickness for someone of his incredible strength is a big deal. What made Shaq special wasn't the fact that he was the fastest center in the league, because he wasn't. There were guys that could easily beat him down the floor. What made him special was how quick he was for a guy of that strength. That's what I think will make Cousins special.

Morey has tried to move up every season. Unfortunately he has been unsuccessful every year. But this is a statement offseason by the Rockets and I think they are going to make one. Thursday night will just be the first chance to do so. The Rockets will be active that night. It should be fun.

And if someone is traded for, I trust Morey's opinion about that player than I do most of the people on this board. If someone is traded, it's because he thinks he has seen the player's best or just thinks the incoming player maxes out further.

This post cracks me up so much. You really had me going. I too agree that he is over-RATED on this board. but then you go on to say that Chase and the #14 for the #4 pick?? really? thats kind of over rating Buds value a bit right?

If he's getting Brooks then hopefully we're getting Rubio and Jefferson.

I doubt we finally do this, and if it happens, not so sure that we do it to get Cousins. Most important thing in pro-sports ti succeed is brain. This guy seems immature, disregarded, lacks discipline... I can't see the Rockets so interested in someone of this caliber... Sure he's pretty talented, but a legit star needs a passion for the game, understanding of the game/league/players, a lot of work ethic. Respect for the coaches, collective orientation... I see much more likely a possible interest in Wesley Johnson/Derrick Favors, but as I said, don't believe anything happens.

Maybe he has had assurance from Rubio that he will come to Minny next season, and is trading Flynn for a wing in this draft. Couple a star wing with Rubio and Love and they've climbed to respectability.

Define "incredible strength". Is he really that exceptionally strong? Because i havent heard anything about this. I imagine he's got to be pretty strong at his size, but is he really incredibly strong, or just strong like a big?

I'm not surprised that Houston is trying up to get the #4. The Wolves are in our conference but they are a shaky organization, making them an "easy" pray.
I still would be surprised if Cousins was their target.

I watch college ball religiously, and in terms of on-court play, he's one of the strongest guys I've ever seen at the college level. He's exceptional. But unlike most guys of his strength, he's quick enough to flash and beat a fronting defense.

By the way, if they do move up and gut the young guys to get there, I believe it officially signals the end of the Yao Ming era, because developing Cousins is going to take some time, and you probably do not need Scola.

Which would actually mean they are looking to get under the Lux tax....even though they have said otherwise....

So, I guess we shall see.

Who is more valuable to other teams? Chase. Other teams are going to want, you know, something good in return for a high draft pick.

This isn't a Chase vs Ariza thread though. Not sure why you would even compare them.

I would be glad to take jefferson off their hands and they can have cousins. If both are healthy, jefferson is a better player than cousins over the next 4 yrs anyway.
