Yes, he tipped the shot...........and he's 6'11..........and he showed DECENT footwork and quickness there but he will be barely average in that category in the NBA.

His real strength is his STRENGTH and size and overall skill for a 6'11 guy.

Not only that, but it seems people are too high no chase, and too low on trevor.

It seems DD has flooded the boards so much with his posts that it has shaped shifted popular opinion

Avery Johnson is believed to prefer Cousins at No. 3. AJ covets his toughness and sees Cousins-Lopez as rugged frontcourt defenders

Can't fault AJ / NJ for that assessment. Cousins would definitely bring toughness to the Jersey shores.

I always worry about players that have mental problems.

No........its just him that is pushing the idea that Chase can be anything beyond an elite roleplayer.

And this is coming from one of the few posters (aka Egghead) who BELIEVED in Chase before the draft and also in Jordan Hill.

So don't make it seem like everyone is "overrating" Chase and sucking on his nuts and using that as an excuse to hate on Chase. (I can sense it)

I still don't see anything special. Was it the way he backed away when the other player crossed him up

Look this was done in college. The NBA has way quicker players, and I highly doubt he can prevent speedsters like Tony parker out of the paint like what he did here. Also his in your face D didn't really do anything, that player still got a shot off, despite already being in the smaller player's grill he still wasn't able to block the shot.

maybe Rubio wouldn't be involved in the trade.... unless they are dumb as hell and trade BOTH of their PGs from last years draft

Forget cousins and the #4 pick, morey should trade up where he thinks al-farouq aminu will go. then trade for bosh.

    Brooks/ lowry
    Martin/reddick
    Al-farouq aminu/battier or ariza
    bosh/ hayes
    Yao/ Brad miller

use mle on miller and try to sign j.j. reddick

Plus the guy was dribbling AWAY from Cousins and was going to take a jumpshot anyways and wasn't moving much sideways or forward so Cousins had the definite advantage with his height and FREAKY length there

I doubt it, I think most people are smart enough to see that Chase as a rookie was pretty danged good, and Trevor struggled mightily.

Trevor was in his 4th year in the league and arguably had a worse year than a 21 year old in his first year.

So, who do you keep? The guy making $6 million a year that has shown little improvement and is locked into being a role player, or the guy that is a role player now but showed a great amount of improvement all year and at under $1 million per annum?

I don't for a second believe Morey would hold onto Trevor on some mythological promise....if he has to be traded, I think Morey would do it....

The only untouchable on the team is Yao....the rest can be traded for the right price.

Personally, I would like to hold onto:

    Yao
    AB
    CBud
    Hill
    Scola

The rest are trade bait....and some of the above too if it nets you a superstar player, which the draft will not do at least for this year.

Yao has a real problem playing any kind of perimeter defense. I felt that sequence showed some perimeter D from Cousins worth mentioning.

When I heard about this I immediately checked his free throw stats.

After looking at them I can see how Morey might like him.
Although he's poor % wise he does draw a good amount of fouls and when he attacks he looks for contact (Ala, lowry, Martin, yao).

Considering that he'll be used as a back up center/pf, his play could help draw more fouls and help us get into the penalty while yao is on the bench. Then yao s "limited minutes" will be even more productive b/c he'll make an even better living at the free throw line.

It'll be like cousins does the dirty work while yao closes the game out at the free throw line and yao's body takes way less punishment at the same time.

    However on a side not
I do have a fear he could wind up like Eddy curry.
having said that I think we should also try to draft whiteside.

Imagine a front line of yao/whiteside/cousins/scola/Hayes/jefferies.
You got size, athleticism, defense, upside, and even plenty of fouls to dish out throughout the playoffs.

Demarcus Cousins will be a beast I think the guy gets a worst rap about his attitude then he probably should for whatever reasons. Personally I like a guy that plays with a chip on their shoulder. Wasn't suspended and don't even think he was kicked out of any games.

If he was a bit more athletic he would be the number one. Will need to build some muscle but the guy is like 18 or something so his body isn't even fully developed.
If we get him we'll be lucky because Morey plays hardball sowhoever we do a deal with is most likely getting punked.

Any speculation as to what else the TWolves want?

What else do the Pacers have other than the 10th? Granger can't be in the deal as he is worth much more than a couple of mid-late 1st rounders and a decent PG.

Kahn must be an idiot, why would he trade Flynn when he can't even get Rubio to come over, there is certainly no better PG available in this draft.

Maybe he thinks he's getting Brooks?
