i'm praying wof this scenerio. I take Leonard with 6 and Zeller with 11. I buy a second round pick and draft Tomas Satoransky. Then let Morey do his magic with all the older vets, tradeing them for whatever young player/draft picks they can get. Start over and let this team grow together.

Leonard and Zeller are the perfect duo for the C position. Zeller with all his hustle will push Leonard and make him reach his potential. Our C position will be solidified for years to come. They are the perfect pair. Tomas will be our SG of the future.

    Tomas Satoransky

Strengths: Certainly one of the most complete guards of the young generation in Europe ... Born in 1991and appears ready for the 2012 NBA Draft after two years in Liga ACB (Spanish League) ... Tomas is a point guard with great size, excellent vision and ability to pass the ball ... Physically strong, allowing him to easily finish near the rim ... He is a good spot-up shooter, with range out to the three point line ... Shooting is not his first offensive option, but in the last Eurocup season he averaged 43% from the distance ... He's a smooth player with a quick first step and a strong ability to finish in traffic ... He also possesses standout athletic ability by European standards (he's a spectacular dunker!) ... He has a winning spirit, and always competes hard ... He is also a good defensive player because of his desire, athleticism and the versatility to defend multiple positions ...

Notes: in 2010 he won the Liga ACB Slam Dunk Contest with an incredible show ... Has the talent to get consideration for the end of first round ... At the 2011 adidas Eurocamp, Satoransky measured: height: 6'5", height w/shoes: 6'6", standing reach: 8'4", weight: 207 lbs, body fat: 5.27, wingspan: 6'7", 3/4 court sprint 3"17, vertical jump: 1'9", vertical jump free: 3'0"

    Leonard at C
    DMo at PF
    Parsons at SF
    Tomas at SG
    Drogic at PG

COME BACK IN 2 YEARS AND TELL ME THIS AINT GOOD TEAM.

Are you sure that is right? Comparable test? That is 21". No one at Chicago even came close to being that low.

#14+#16 to the Warriors for the rights to Damian Lillard @#7.

Lowry+Patterson+Budinger+ for #5. Taking Beal or MKG.

Not sure if Lillard is the guy to pick-- several similarly valued prospects at that point-- but Warriors is one team that may be willing to down to 14th+16th.

Specifically, their #1 roster need is for a SF. See here: http://www.mercurynews.com/tim-kawa...ami-options-are-limited-golden-state-warriors. One relevant fact about this draft is there seems to be a big drop off among the SF prospects in terms of projected draft range after MKG and Barnes--the next SF prospect in the pool is either Moe Harkless or tweeners Perry Jones and Terrence Jones. The perception is also that there is bunch of similarly-valued guys from 7th to 17th or so.

So, it would seem to make sense for the Warriors to explore a trade from 7th to 14th+16th. They can probably pick up someone they were considering at 7th anyway.

For Houston, on the other hand, they don't really need an extra rookie on the roster with Motiejunas coming in, so it makes sense for them to move up to grab a guy that they prefer-- whether it's Lillard, a center (Zeller, Leonard) or whatever else they don't think might be off the board at 14.

    Francis3422, Carl Herrera --

Certainly makes a lot of sense. I could see the Warriors having a lot of contingency plans lined up, similar to the Rockets in 2006 when they had pick #8 (when Randy Foye was picked 7th, destroying the trade for Brandon Roy, the Grizzlies celebrated because they knew the guys the Rockets wanted were off the board and the Battier-Rudy Gay trade was on).

Could you imagine trading 14+16 for 7, then taking Damian Lillard ... and then trying to keep a straight face when talking to Kyle Lowry? Yikes.

I have a hard time seeing the Rockets trade up for a point guard. A big man, yes. Not sure there is a huge difference in quality there from 7 to 14... but like you said CH, this way they could have their pick of those guys left.

I also find it interesting that we haven't heard yet any real, concrete rumors about the Rockets trying to trade up. I almost think that's a good sign (this stuff likely gets leaked more when talks ended).

We would get destroyed in the paint with that lineup

I agree with CH on the guy to pick potentially not being Leonard, but if you could turn Lowry, Patterson, Budinger, #14, and #16 for the #5 and #7 that would seem a great outcome.

At #5 you'd have your choice of MKG, Barnes, Beal, Drummond or Robinson. At #7 you may still get one of the above if someone does "reach" for Lillard.

I'm a big supporter for picking Lillard when he was projected to go in the teen's. However, this draft is deep and it's better to trade down and get multiple late first round picks. Then use one of them to 'buyback' the newjersy obligation(they are shopping for one this year) next year. The remaining picks can still get you some good values with much less salaries committed.

Personally I would even package 1 or 2 late first round picks to move Scola's contract. After that we may just have one or two second rounders. We should be able to get solid values even in second round.

In the end, we get back our own pick next year, get rid of Scola's contract and have a couple solid second round picks with small salaries. We opened up huge flexibility this way.

My preference is to use the late first rounders on a few high potential prospects like Miller, White, Wroten, Teague... but either way we come out better as a team.

Seems a lot of teams in the top 5-6 are passing of MKG based on his limited offensive upside.

@JohnCanzanoBFT: NBA GM tells me he thinks Blazers take Lillard at No. 6, & wouldn't chance trying to get him at No. 11

Sam Amick, Chad Ford agree or hear similar.

That makes a lot of sense. i have:

    2) T-Rob
    3) Beal
    4) Barnes
    5) MKG
    6) Lillard
    7) -warriors are the ideal trade partner if we want Drummund or the pick of the rest. If we are super high on Leonard, this could be the spot Houston needs to draft him.

I see nobody with a 19 or 21 inch vert.

    Lowest I see is 29.5.

Lillard goes either 5 or 6 that could be huge for the Rockets in what they have to give up to move up.

If Drummond is at 7 I think we would have to spice it up for the Warriors a little..

Both picks+Bud or Mavs pick but its a definitive possibility.

So true. Frustrating as a fan when the status of your backup center has been the most relevant rumor to leak a week before the draft but it is likely a good thing.

    C'mon Morley!

Really? Didn't realize Ross's stock had risen that much. If they're that high on him, they could trade down for him. We'd be ideal trading partners for that.
