OT, you do realize that the op/ed is written by Turley, a lawyer with no experience in immunology

    who to believe?

    • the considered opinion of an Dr Fauci, with close to 50 years of professional experience as a physician-scientist and immunologist
    • a lawyer w no experience in immunology

    what an easy choice !

you realize the story is about the censorship of the theory, right? not the truth or falsity of the theory per se?

New bird flu shot is same as old covid shot but with a different label?

    This will probably be true.

Fauci, brix, Lena wang all magically appeared on all the Sunday morning shows. People are sick from holiday travel and there are the same culprits right back at it.
Right before Trump getting ready to go back in.

White House commissions review of coronavirus origins ahead of Trump’s arrival
Jake Sullivan, the outgoing national security adviser, is asking a panel of outside experts to examine the government’s conclusions on how the pandemic began.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/01/17/covid-origin-biden-commission-jake-sullivan/

    excerpt:

National security officials are creating an independent panel to examine the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, as scientists and intelligence experts continue to wrestle over the highly charged issue of how the pandemic began.

Jake Sullivan, the Biden administration’s national security adviser, on Sunday asked the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to assemble an outside panel of experts who would take a fresh look at the existing findings on the coronavirus and examine the government’s conclusions, according to two administration officials.

Biden officials say the panel’s creation — coming days before the incoming Trump administration takes office — was driven by Sullivan’s desire to understand a virus that killed more than 1 million Americans and upended society. Sullivan also requested on Dec. 17 that intelligence agencies update their own assessments of the pandemic’s origins, according to one official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe national security matters.

“Our rigorous analysis continues, and we look forward to working with the panel of outside experts to enrich our process,” according to an ODNI spokesperson.

The panel is still being assembled but is expected to include outside experts familiar with the highly technical issues involved with virus evolution and national security. Members of the panel will have access to classified intelligence on possible origins of the coronavirus.

Republicans on Friday greeted the news with skepticism, calling it overdue and insufficient. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa), who sat on the House panel reviewing the nation’s coronavirus response, said Democrats had missed opportunities to investigate the virus’s origins during the past four years.

The panel — which could be shaped or dismissed by the incoming Trump administration — would represent the latest effort to settle a question that polarized political leaders, the intelligence community and the public as the virus ravaged the world in 2020.

Democrats largely sided with scientists who said the virus was likely to have “spilled over” from animals to humans, probably in a market near where the first cases of an unusual pneumonia were reported in Wuhan, China. Some prominent evolutionary biologists and other experts have said they continue to support that theory, citing new reviews they say bolster evidence of a natural origin for the pandemic.

Republican leaders and other scientists, meanwhile, have argued that the pandemic probably began with an accidental lab leak in central China. That view has been increasingly favored by the U.S. public, and Democratic leaders have expressed growing openness to the possibility of a lab leak. There is no evidence SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind the pandemic, was in any laboratory before the outbreak.

And yet, today, it's still consider that COVID was by far most likely, natural in origin.

None of it is going to bring the millions of people who died back or stop the army of dipshits who started chugging horse dewormer instead of getting vaccinated

But that's not the point, the fascists need an object of 2 minutes hate for the Galaxy brains and etc.

Lot of ****ery going on around that Wuhan lab circa 2019 for it to be of natural origin...and I never trust a word from the CCP's mouth.

I'm interested in seeing how accurate Rand Paul was. He's an ******* but that wouldn't justify Fauci lying to Congress.

Not only is GoF serious business, carrying water for China is worse in my book.

Still waiting for any clear evidence of wrongdoing on Fauci's part that even approaches a criminal offense. The "gain of function" thing, as far as I can tell, is that Fauci authorized funding for collaborative scientific research with the Wuhan lab that might have separately been involved in gain-of-function lab work. That's clearly not the same thing as him expressly funding gain-of-function research.

As I recall, the most damning thing anyone has brought up that is that he sent some internal communications cautioning scientists not to make hasty claims that incriminate China in the beginning months of the pandemic. From a purely political standpoint, I understand why those who see China as an enemy, adversarial state would dislike that. When it comes to scientific medical research, however, China is more a partner than an adversary.
